I am a Registerd Nurse here in the Philippines, and in need of help with these to questions.

Are you a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services in the United States but have not yet passed the National Board of Medical Examiners examination or its equivalent?

I am a graduate with Masters, and I do hope to work as a RN in the US. But I feel this question has a different meaning. Even though I am a graduate I was not seeking to perform medical servies, but to get married to my Fiance

Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization?

I feel like this question has a different meaning as well. I am a nurse and i do want to work in the US but I was not seeking for work here when my Fiance proposed to me.

and a simple question even though it is asking for passwork numbers, do I include the 2 letter before the nunber since it is included in the line?

Please advise

I am not an expert on the questions.  But my reading is a bit different than yours.  To the first, no, you are not a graduate of a medical school, so answer no.  To the second, yes you are a healthcare worker and yes you are going to seek this work in the US, so answer yes.  To me, these questions are not about you using your fiance to do an "end run" around immigration rules.  In fact, it indicates that you want to contribute to U.S. society in an area where this is a shortage, once you get to the U.S.

I believe I've heard somewhere that nurses have a harder time immigrating to the U.S.  But I don't know if this is accurate, and feel strongly that you should be sought, not rejected. Sadly, that doesn't mean the US government will think the same way.

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)

The DS-160 is not designed with the K-1 in mind.   You are not applying for a visa "seeking to perform ... "

Yes the complete number with any alphabet letters.

I do not think the question is asking about whether you have a Masters.  Rather, it is asking if you have "received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools".  Do you have that now?  If you do then say no, because you are already credentialed to work in the US.  If you do not yet have it, but intend to get it, then the answer would be Yes.

You should start studying for the nursing certification exam, the NCLEX.  Also, there is an interesting article at

https://www.nurse.com/blog/2015/01/28/coming-to-america/ that might be helpful.

My wife is from the Philippines.  She had over a decade of elementary teaching experience.  However, she didn't have any luck getting a teaching job in the U.S.  She is now midway through her nursing program.

I thought so, because I'm applying for the visa to marry my Fiance

so both answers should be "NO"

thanks Hank!

Hank actually answered this question which makes sense

But yes I have been studying for the NCLEX, when I settle in I plan to take the NCLEX for CA and must return to school for training.

@Hank_ question for the Passport.

she had to renew her passport in UAE so would that be the Authority that issued passport? Or would it still be Philippines?

UAE doesn't have authority to issue Philippines passports.   All passport are issued by DFA

YMMV

I dont think you are reading it right 😔😔😔. The form asked where it was issued.

She renewed her passport at the Philippines Consulate General in Dubai.

Her passport literally says PCG Dubai

I am reading it correctly.   You are not.    Read what YOU wrote!!!

The question reads " Authority that issued passport "

The passport was issued by the Philippines   NOT Dubia (UAE) !

( Is your fiancee a citizen of Dubai?   If she is a citizen of Dubai why are you completing a visa process in the Philippines? )

I'm sorry i should if rephrased it after you confirmed Philippines.

I understand the authority will be the Philippines.

But the city and country it was issued and she received her renewed passport was in Dubai, UAE at the Philippine Consulate. She was a OFW and needed to renew her passport and they issue it on spot. Its like when Filipinos come to San Francisco to the Consulate. Location where it was issued would be in San Francisco, US and YES the AUTHORITY would be Philippines.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time.

If i need to rephrase my question i will sorry

😔😔😔
