Hello. I got my GC through marriage 18 years ago but I broke the continuous residence. I was out of the country for more than a year without reentry permit but they let me in at the airport after explaining what happened to the officer and I was able to renew my GC when expired soon after. I have just applied for the citizenship because in the last five years I was out of the country only four months and I meet all the other requirements. I am still married to my US husband and we have a daughter. My concern is what may happen at the interview. I know they may ask me about that period and I do not know if the cannot only deny my application but also take away my GC.
