I'm filling out my I-130 and i noticed that the second page asks C. Information about your alien relative.

Now, i'm pretty sure this is the person intending to immigrate, as it is continued from page one and is the alien relative. But i checked the guides and the example form appears to be filled out incorrectly here, putting the sponsor's name in the alien relative section C.17

Now, i'm sure i have this correct so just thought you'd better correct the error if indeed it is one, in the example form for I-130!

Thanks

Are you the person who is applying for the Green Card. If so, you're not the one who should be filling out the I-130, it should be filled in by the US Citizen. In which case, section "C" should contain information about the alien relative (i.e. the person being sponsored for a Green Card).

EDIT: I checked the example form and it is filled out correctly.

My wife is the filer, but i am helping as i have more experience in immigration. She is filling out I-130 and in section C.17 i'm sure my information goes there, but if you check the example form, the petioner's name is in C.17 and not the alien relative.

Yes, i think because of the names being similar, but the fact it was the petitioner's name with the country of birth being USA was a giveaway but nonetheless should be corrected. Thanks for confirming this Dr LHA.

I was wondering also, section C.22 asks for a USCIS office, i'm assuming the closest to me, or whatever USCIS office falls under my jurisdiction for california (that address I know) I'm guessing these are the same two places.

MATTOB,

The example I-130 is correct. The alien relative is the beneficiary (the person being petitioned for), and the alien relative's spouse is the petitioner.

The example form was once wrong in this spot - it used to say 'none'!
