There is conflicting advice regarding blank spaces. Exp: I've had the same address for 20yrs, is it ok to put "mailing address same" or put n/a or just leave blank?

I put NA in all fields I did not fill. With the exception of the employment and I wrote in PRESENT. The application won't allow you to use special symbols '/' in a lot of the fields.

The instructions for that particular question say only to fill it out if your address is different than from the mailing. Therefore, I'd go for blanks instead of n/a. It has never seemed to be an issue before with the USCIS.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.

Read what is being asked carefully.  If you do, what you are supposed to do will become clear

YMMV

It would make more sense to complete the questions as asked.    If the form asks for your mailing address .. enter it.

If you are referring to Address History,  you complete the 1st section with your address, at the bottom of that section it asks for dates you have lived there.   TaaDaa!     The next section you enter N/A  ( being you don't have additional addresses ) at the top and leave the rest as is.  ;)

Read the instructions, Page 3, top of the page.   Type print N/A unless otherwise directed ...
