Jan 28 and still waiting :(

My lawyer sent an inquiry since it was past the time and they said they will reply to that by September 19 :(

Thankfully I am going back to Colombia September 11 but it would have been nice to have been done before I traveled.

I congratulate those who have been approved but i must admit to being jealous.

@d99gr81 After my approval I noticed people have had their cases stuck at the National Visa Center since March, so it's not really exciting. But I get that you would probably want it approved anyway because that's one less obstacle.

Yes exactly... My lawyer sent and inquiry and we got a response last week that it is in the process of being adjudicated so she thinks we will hear any day now...

I submitted the RFE 89 days ago and I still waiting their answer ... I cant understand why few cases are taking so long to be approved while few are so fast.

Covid affecting the staffing and other reasons. I'd recommend that you call USCIS and see what the delay is. Try talking to a tier2 representative because they normally have access to information that the "plain Jane" who answers the phone does not.

After nearly 10 months of waiting, replying to the RFE...finally got an answer last week...APPROVED!

Now, it's on to NVC

One problem though. I moved in the middle and didn't ask USCIS to change my address until it was approved. Already put in my address change request, but the material might go to my old address...any suggestions?

If they have the wrong address when the sent the notice then it will either be returned or if you have filed an address change form with the Post Office then your mail from USCIS will be forwarded. You don't need the NOA2 for anything as there is a copy in the system for anyone to view who needs to.

Congratulations!  Join us in the OCTOBER 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY thread and download the PDF file on the first post of the first page for tips, tricks and hacks to follow your case to the embassy. I'll post the link below:

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

130 days is a long time to wait for a response after an RFE has been returned. I suggest you get on the phone to USCIS and see if they indeed received your response and if there is any movement. You just never know what could be the problem. Hate to think your reply was never received by USCIS but it has happened before. Good luck and stay engaged in the process.

Our case was approved in October and until now we did not receive any information from NCV. I sent an email to them and no answers yet!

It is so annoying !

Any one with the same problems than us?

This has been written, asked, and responded to in many of the threads. Everyone who is at NVC is experiencing either a delay in getting their case number or their file being shipped to their embassy. NVC does not send updates until such time as your file is sent to the embassy. More of this :pop:is required.
