No, we can't see your country's flag. If you're on a phone you will not see it as a flag but you will see in the space at your name and it will say "Germany" if you have completed the entry correctly. Follow my instructions as it will help you to complete that portion. Good luck and stay engaged.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.
 
So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

My lawyer says it needs to be approved soon or we will get stuck in long wait and the national visa center because on July 12 they are laying people off. Whats worse is i cant get back to see my fiance until sept 1... my flights to Colombia have been canceled the last 4 months.

I have tried to find information to support that, but I don't see anything online about it. Are you sure he/she isn't referring to the possible USCIS layoffs that may begin August 3rd?

No my lawyer said specifically that the visa center. That's why she told me we must hope that the uscis approves it soon so it can get the the visa center before the layoffs.

Well, the sky is not falling. There is some time ahead for Congress and USCIS to come to terms. But your dates are wrong as far as when this will take place. Google is my friend and you should use it to get better information then what your lawyer is saying. OMG lawyers!!!

 

USCIS and other federal agencies are required by law to give their employees 30 days of advance notice before the expected date of a furlough. Without congressional action, the agency anticipates it will exhaust its current funding around Aug. 3.

 

“On or before July 2, approximately 13,400 USCIS employees will receive notice that if USCIS must proceed with an administrative furlough, they would be furloughed beginning Aug. 3,” an agency spokesman said in an email to Federal News Network. “Though we continue to have productive conversations with Congress, we want employees who may be furloughed to have sufficient time to prepare.”

 

This is an unusual turn of events when the pandemic set in. Worrying about everything will not make it any more palpable. I suggest you take this one day at a time. Fix or complete when you can on that day and let each day unfold for you to meet head-on. Good luck and stay engaged.

FYI. Technically speaking, an RFE is a written request for more information and documentation that USCIS mails out if they believe that they don’t yet have enough evidence to approve or deny a given application. An RFE normally is a minor item and should not be looked at like it's a denial but an opportunity for you to complete your application. USCIS would not send out an RFE if they were going to deny your application. It's just a step that they must take and once they have your information and it meets their approval then you should be seeing your NOA2.

 

There are many varying degrees of RFE's. Some as simple as not "ticking" off a question. Others forgot the fiancé(e) letter and then others who met on a website and now need to prove that it wasn't a marriage arrangement website.

 

Once you get your RFE, read over very carefully as you only have one chance to reply accurately without causing undue harm. Once you know FROM THE RFE what it is set out to correct and to include "everything" they are asking for. Then reread the RFE to ensure you are compliant. Make copies of everything for your record and send back using their instructions which are contained within the RFE. If the RFE requires a signature, PLEASE don't forget this. Include the original RFE letter along with a cover letter explaining what you are including in your reply. Like a checklist format. Once received at USCIS your case will begin adjudication where the agent had left off. No one can tell you how long it will take so be patient.
