If I call the NVC and get the number can I fill out the DS160 and schedule the medical and interview, or do I still have to wait for P3 and P4?

No, but here is what you can do and in what order and what timetable you can use.

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on CEAC change to ready two times. The second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterward.

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aa5iWVtFniXGWavXN0zs-94dewD2Fdfy/view?usp=sharing

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parent's name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet-sized one with parents' names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents traveling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with the format. I hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long-form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.

Also, there is a discussion about the new requirements for PC and fingerprints found here

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.

Thank you for all the info! I will try to keep my profile updated and provide info I come across.

My fiance is Japanese and living in Canada on a work permit currently, so we will have to translate her birth certificate to English. It contains birth information for her, her parents, and her sister. I believe we can request one just for her as well but im not sure how long that would take.

She may have requested "visa" as the purpose of the PC request so it looks like we may have to do that over again... Should get that in about a week so time shouldn't be an issue for that. We did request under the privacy act though.

Her work permit expires in May so I am a bit worried that we may have to switch embassies to Japan if we can't get an interview appointment in time. I'm sure that would cause a significant delay...

If you want to figure out if you met the income requirements for 2018, do you use the 2018 poverty guidelines to check that or?

Please advise.  Do we need to file I-134 or just complete it and send it to the beneficiary for an interview?  When is the best time to complete DS-160?

You complete it and send it to your beneficiary. Email is fine. Once you have your case number from NVC you can complete the DS-160/

Hi all.. we just got approved today.. I already started reading the pdf from the first page, but I’m wondering if @Greenbaum has the P3 for Bosnia-Herzegovina. I will also go through the whole this topic and read it all and ask questions if there are some. Thank you

The last three years income would 2018,2019 and 2020,right?

I'm just confusing, because how can I look at 2020 poverty guidelines to see if I made enough income for the year 2018?

All I have is this https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ba/niv/information/required_docs which should be a good start. Also read what is here on VJ http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Bosnia-Herzegovina&cty=Sarajevo.

https://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Bosnia-Herzegovina

If you get a copy of the P3 letter and would like to share it with me, I use it to help others after you are well on your way. Just PM me here on VJ when you have a copy. Most don't maybe you'll be the first.

And use the advance search here on VJ to look for information needed for the interview https://www.visajourney.com/search/

I'm just confusing, because how can I look at 2020 poverty guidelines to see if I made enough income for the year 2018? They will look at the current income in its entirely and adjudicate accordingly. They are more concerned with 2019/2020 then prior years.

First, most embassies don't require 3 years anymore. You should verify that with the people in the sub-forum for your country or region. You are done here and should be in that thread to ask these questions.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

Just called the NVC and got my case #. My NOA2 was January 9th.

On the CEAC website nothing comes up for my case # under non-immigrant visa, but it does come up under immigrant visa. Is this normal or was there a mistake processing my application?

Edit: Never-mind, I looked over @Greenbaum's guide and this is correct!

If the sponsor is married, and I eas to submit his 1040 form, do I still need to submit his own w2 forms?  And also do I need his wife signature on the I134form? Still confused about that.  Also is it really necessary to submit bank statements? What do they look for in there?
