Well, this is what NVC website says "Current case creation time frame: As of 13-JAN-2020, we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 11-DEC-2019". :(

"As of 21-JAN-2020, we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 18-DEC-2019."
It takes time, but if we waited until now...
Just be patient, and use this time in between the best you can :)

All is good :)

Congratulations!
Did You received it by email?
And another one - did you previously updated your/beneficiary email ( according to thread instructions)?

I called in and waited for like two hours and then got the number from the rep. She said they’re finalizing my file and I will get an email once the case ships to the embassy. I did update the email as per the thread instructions and I asked the rep to confirm and they had it on file so perhaps it does work. How about you?

OK, than
Well we still did not call NVC.

Not sure if it would speed up our NVC process, but it seems like it did speed up yours  :)

Calling in and checking in to see if you have that number available does not hurt, if that’s what you feel like doing. I am glad to know that things are moving along though.

I'm glad that the instructions for registering your email worked for you. You have officially joined the class of those who believe and trust the process.

There isn't anything that you can do, a lawyer can do or a congress person can do to move your case along. When your case is ready it will be ready.  @HenryCA called and they stated that they were finalizing his case and that is exactly what they did. They would have done that even if HenryCA didn't call.  You think that it sped it up, but from my experience it does not. Just my experience talking for whatever that is worth. Maybe a plug nickel.

The statistics says that the file will not be at NVC for 30 days from NOA2 approval. I think you are being aggressive with your math.

Well, they already have my file  after 2 weeks. and it doesn't hurt checking with them after 2 weeks, just to make sure my file is not lost on the way to NVC.

OMG. Give the checking a rest. NVC has enough to do then to see if your file has been lost when you haven't even past the 30 days. Your taking up time from others who case is probably there only to extend their phone wait time for 2 hours. Trust the process!

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

I was under the impression that your tax returns aren't obligatory for the I-134 unless you're self-employed. It's definitely mandatory for the I-864, but the I-134 instructions only seemed to need evidence from your bank/employer in most cases. I guess it couldn't hurt to include, though.

I-134 is driving the tax return requirement. The embassy is. There is an old saying that I express and that is "the man with the gold gets to make the rules". So yes it will hurt and the proof is dead turtles all over that 6 lane freeway.  But if you like, you can be the example and let's us know what that worked for you.

So looking at the P4 checklist of documents needed for your interview in Canada it states and I quote:

Evidence of Support (I‐864; I‐864A, I‐864EZ, I‐864W) and photocopy of IRS transcript or photocopy of the most recent Federal income tax return (for family based cases)

I assume that the I-864 is a mistake but I wouldn't deviate from that unless some one has recently been through your embassy can verity which form to use.

Yeah, sounds like Packet 4 is making things confusing there. But we'll include it to err on the side of caution. Better to have and not need it, after all.

I received the email that our case is now heading to the consulate! That being said, I noticed the my the petitioners name has a typo! We checked all the paperwork we submitted and it’s all correct so it must have been admin error. Is it best to call NVC even if it’s headed to the consulate? Contact our consulate? Or wait until the interview.
