Is your spouse count as a dependent, if you filed as married jointly?

First off you can't be married to file a K1 visa. That will get you denied.

Second if you are married your in the wrong thread.

What say you?

Hi @Greenbaum do you have p3 for New Zealand? Thanks so much for this thread! Had no idea what’s next

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R4ScahjwyfABUukA8Vt_MhrqY5NP8zr3/view?usp=sharing that's the P3 for New Zealand that lists the required documents and procedures needed for the visa. Make sure you figure out where the approved doctor is that can do his medical, I know on the South island the only one located in Christchurch... Better than Auckland when fiancée is in Dunedin but still XD

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

You are more than 16 years old;

The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

You still live in the country that issued the certificate.

We applied for her certificates just this month, because she needed one from Japan from a foreign exchange trip and that one is supposed to take 2-3 months.

What is the likelihood of my case being sent from the NVC to the embassy tomorrow? I got my NOA January 9th, and called and got my NVC case # last Wednesday. Hoping we don't have to wait for the 18th for it to ship...

Thanks heaps! Luckily I stay in central Auckland local to all the places I need to be visiting :) also just wondering if you know if I can send away the police vetting form For NZ before the NVC gets my case as I’m aware it takes a while to get the records.
thanks :)

Those are questions that you need to be asking about in your regional sub-forum found under the "Forums" tab at the top of this page.

Rare but I have seen it. Check CEAC throughout the day Tuesday for "in transit" status and if not Tuesday then Wednesday they ship.

Our case was received by the NVC on January 27th, but we haven't been assigned a case number yet. Is it okay to start the DS-160 now and save it/wait to submit it until after we receive notice from the NVC? Or is it best to just wait to begin the DS-160 after the NVC notice?

Beginning it before you receive your case number has no advantage. Why not just wait and when you have your case number you'll begin the process where you are doing most of the work which gives self satisfaction after waiting all these months.

I have a formula to figure out the date it was assigned. Use the PDF and search till you come to the entry. PDF is in the first post on the first page.

Just got our notification from NVC. It is our first notification from them but already has the case number assigned. When I searched on the CEAC website, it says it is transit to the Consular Section. Can anyone confirm whether that means it's on the way to the embassy now or still needing to be processed? I was thinking we would have a wait between receipt and being sent out so this sounds too good to be true! Our NOA2 date was Jan 15.

I created a PDF to answer the repetitive questions that everyone seems to answer. Look at the PDF first for your answer and if it is not their then ask the question. Find the PDF file on the first page first post,
