No we are 37...age isnt the problem rather your same age couple or younger and older Nigeria is nigeria and they will be judgmental regardless just because they are nigerian

OP, embassy might as well waiting with just one question: Are you willing to marry a fellow Nigerian who's 54 years and living in Nigeria? My mother is 56 years and I'm 26 years old and the last born. Basically, your scenario is akin to me marring my mother, who's had 5 kids already. Being from the same culture, just the thought of this will NEVER surface in our household.

The orphanage isn't a tourist location where you go take pictures for visa exhibit. Leave the poor kids alone. I can bet you that if and I'm saying if, (because I know it's not going to happen) the orphanage pictures help you get approved, you will NEVER go back to them to finish or start the adoption process. The poor kids are just a pawn to you. Similarly, since you've been in Nigeria all this while, why hadn't you considered adoption already?? Why did it become an idea now that an American and GC is involved? You're taking the Nigerian GC desperation to a new level.

I wish you luck, but please, don't waste this poor lady's money and time and end up just using her.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

How do you check the adoption part ?    look it up in immigration

read former posts about adoption and people who thought they could adopt a neice or nephew/  there is a ton of information on the subject

check this site out as it says the following:

Individuals who are not Nigerian citizens are not legally allowed to adopt in Nigeria.  When a married couple is adopting, both must be Nigerian citizens.  Only U.S. citizens who also have Nigerian citizenship are allowed to adopt children in Nigeria.

that is from the US embassy in Nigeria

https://ng.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/adoption/adoption-in-nigeria/

A woman married to a Nigerian can automatically claim Nigerian citizenship ( although I consider this a very risky thing to do as they are then subject to some less than modern Nigeian laws ) CITZENSHIP BY REGISTRATION
A person can become a citizen of Nigeria by Registration if;
a.    Being a woman, she is married to a Nigerian man. This provision affords non-Nigerian women married to Nigerian men an opportunity to become Nigerian citizens if they so please.
This provision does not extend to a non-Nigerian man married to a Nigerian woman. Thus, if a Nigerian lady marries a non-Nigerian man, the man cannot become a Nigerian citizen by Registration. It is hoped that the law would be amended soon to afford Nigerian ladies the same privileges and rights that the men enjoy.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Lest we forget  - But she pays taxes and is, hence, entitled to a visa - ON DEMAND.
How dare USCIS deny her and Mikul!

Wonder what happened when she figured out a K1 gets returned to die / no appeal

I've noticed that you urge some OPs to invite their fiance/spouse to join the forum. I think that's a great idea and would really make some of these threads even greater.

It is often the visa-desperate foreign SO that comes here with only basic English skills to try to get info.  Many times, the USC is inexplicably absent from this entire process.
