HI ALL VJ members,

i just got my interview schedule on the Jan 7th.

at the NVC stage first submittion they said i might need a joint sponsor. we didnt submit a joint sponsor untill now, we submitted more financial support instead.

got DQ on Oct 13, no message about joint sponsor.

my husband just moved back to the US soil in June 2019, still got foreign income at that time. and started a new job n August 2019 salary is above $45k per year

however in 2019, his income in US soil is only around $19k, not enough for 2 households.

so my interview in 2020, will his incme counted as the new salary? do we need a joint sponsor or his income with some saving is enough?

thanks for all the responses and have a happy Christmas

You'll still very likely need a joint sponsor, because he only started the new job around August.  What does his taxes for 2017 and 2018 look like for total income?  If the same or below 2019, most definitely a joint sponsor is needed, since there isn't enough history to make a good determination of his future income.  There's always a chance they may not require one, but it would be best to bring the joint sponsor paperwork with you, and if needed, you can simply hand it over.

Current income = gross $ per pay period x pay periods per year. Not per calendar year, per 12 months.

If he started in aug and has a 45k salary, his current income is 45k. It doesnt matter if he only made 19k in 2019. His current income is 45k.
