i-751 RFE - Affidavits necessary??

We got a RFE  for our i-751 (basically just asked for more of everything and nothing specific). I heard in 2019 almost everyone is getting a RFE so trying not to freak out too much about it.

Was planning to provide a lot more of everything except affidavits. We didn’t include any in our original submission and weren’t planning on including any for this RFE. We don’t own a house or have kids together yet but we do share all financial accounts, listed as beneficiaries on each other’s stuff, file taxes together, share a lease together etc. Would be providing a lot of all of this and some pictures with family and receipts from trips etc.

Any Dec 2019 or recent experiences?

I've seen a few people here get rfe just for affidavits so I'd throw some in there as well. They can only help.

only if all your other evidence is REALLY weak. REALLY REALLY weak.

affidavits are generally worthless. they do accept them, but since there is no real way to validate the info, it is only as good as the paper it is printed on.

What’s the best method to mail back the info? Fedex, UPS, or USPS and with tracking and receipt confirmation?

Our support is about 150 pages (double sided). Going to bind it together and provide a summary page with page number references and basic comments about what is in there.

Thanks!

And since the OP got an RFE for more evidence it can't hurt to send I few I'd think. Weak or not considering they are listed as an option for us to use.

Personally, we did send some. But this was only because of our circumstances (living with family) and we thought it might help. I can't say if it helped or not, but we were approved without a problem.

I wouldn't say affidavits are necessary but if you get an RFE for more relationship evidence there's no harm in putting them in along with other stronger evidence. If you sent just affidavits in response to the RFE, I would def expect an interview.

We didn't send affidavits, but we also were approved without interview or RFE

Do not send double sided pages if you don’t want to piss them off. So its 300 pages documents!!!! focus on quality not the quantity. I’d include affidavits as well.

300 pages is excessive. Also I would note  that the OP wants to be careful on how the pages are bound. USCIS has to scan each page, so if you spiral bind it or make it annoying to get off, they don't like that.

One of the reasons that RFE's happen is because people will send like a half thought of ROC packet, and then when they get an RFE they send things like that. Pretty much a "well if the minimal wasn't enough for you, I'll send the max!!"  It clogs up the system and makes everything around it take more time.

Thanks for all the suggestions and notes. I reprinted it out single sided. I didn’t bind it and used some big clip holders to keep it together. Should be easy to scan or take apart as necessary but still be organized.

Created a cover sheet with page numbers and bullet points of everything included so very easy for them to find stuff.

Its 350+ pages mainly because i included 3 years of joint tax returns and our returns are 75 pages each or so. I also got the tax return transcript from the IRS for each of those years and put it in the front (like 20 pages total) so that it’s easy for them to just look at that summary and ignore the full returns if they want.

Shipped it a few minutes ago in some next day small USPS box with tracking and deliver confirmation - only thing big enough for 300+ pages. Phew. And now to waiting and hope.

Good luck with the submission of your "baby."

Initially our baby weighed in at six pounds at USPS, our follow-up (RFE response) weighed in just under four pounds.... :ranting:   (I gave up counting pages....) Hope yours goes smoothly.

Included a cover sheet and arrange your document based on that cover sheet, and when someone take a look at your case, they will got the ideal what you submit  so their job is more easy.
