Another installment of the continuing series we like to call...

Ladies And Gentlemen, The President* of the United States.

“I never understood wind. I know windmills very much, I have studied it better than anybody. I know it is very expensive. They are made in China and Germany mostly, very few made here, almost none, but they are manufactured, tremendous — if you are into this — tremendous fumes and gases are spewing into the atmosphere. You know we have a world, right? So the world is tiny compared to the universe. So tremendous, tremendous amount of fumes and everything. You talk about the carbon footprint, fumes are spewing into the air, right spewing, whether it is China or Germany, is going into the air.”

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

So President Trump mentions that fabrication is a dirty process and it is earth shattering to the editors of Esquire?  There are some pretty nasty places in China created by the mining necessary to manufacture these “green” products.

I believe that GE is the biggest manufacturer of wind turbines used in America by quite a bit, so the China and Germany thing in his speech was kind of a red herring.

And whoever would want to read an entire Trump speech to look for context (1) is a masochist and (2) will find it hard to find much coherence! It's like... pareidolia. Our brains have a tendency to make order out of abstract patterns, to resolve them into human faces or recognizable objects. Reading or listening to a Trump speech, I think, is kind of the same. It's all a bunch of abstract noise so you order it into something that makes subjective sense to you.

1. Vestas

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas is currently the world’s largest wind turbine maker, representing over 16% of the world wind turbine market. The company was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark. So far, Vestas has installed over 60,000 turbines, which has a total joint capacity of 82 GW, across 76 countries. It has manufacturing facilities in North and Latin America, Europe and Asia.

4. GE

With over 25,000 wind turbines installed globally, GE is one of the world’s leading wind turbine suppliers. Its portfolio of turbines features rated capacities from 1.7 MW to 4.8 MW (Onshore) and 6 MW to 12 MW (Offshore). However, GE fell two positions to become world’s 4th largest wind turbine maker in 2018, particularly due to the loss in its home market, where Vestas overtook it as the No. 1 supplier for the second year in a row.

Presumably this is impeachable?

2. Siemens Gamesa

Siemens Gamesa, the latest merger between Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa, ranked second in the world’s top 10 wind turbine manufacturers list in 2018, primarily due to its strong position in the offshore sector in India and improved position in the United States.

3. Goldwind

Chinese wind turbine supplier Goldwind remains the third largest in the world of 2018. As China continues to be the world’s largest wind energy market and number one wind turbine installer, Goldwind is significantly benefited by this soaring demand, making it the largest wind turbine manufacturer in China. By tate 2017, Goldwind has installed a total capacity of 41GW wind turbines in over 20 major countries around the world.

I was primarily replying to the"GE is the biggest" comment.

How does that help the argument.

I know people who work for Vestas in Colorado and have been seconded to the Danish HQ, they also have an operation on the Isle of Wight, now I know they are Danish but not that far from Germany, certainly from a American geography perspective.

I'll find you the reference. I heard it on the Chris Hays episode (I think) from last night. If I am wrong I stand corrected but I literally heard it last night. 😊

Here, at the 2:24 mark: http://www.msnbc.com/all-in/watch/donald-trump-s-vendetta-against-the-wind-75631173743

So when I get a chance later I'll check the Department of Energy for that.

From GE and not the DOE website, but I think this is what I was talking about: https://www.ge.com/reports/blown-away-ge-now-top-manufacturer-wind-turbines-us/

And I was only ever talking about wind turbines used in the US. They may not be the biggest overall in the world -- I never said that 😊 -- but they are in the US. And I think Trump was talking about the US but honestly I can't follow what he's talking about half the time, sometimes it's rants about how he's asking women about the effectiveness of modern dishwashers.
