Earnings in Pakistan are counted as zero towards sponsorship but if you can bank around $65,000 and park it in the US you can sponsor your husband yourself.

They'll have to provide the source of money as well like if they 'sold a home', 'inheritance' etc.

One would think.

Strangely, nobody asks.  At least they didnt ask us.

Sometimes they ask and sometimes they won't. If it doesn't make immediate sense (i.e. low paying or minimal work history but large assets), they would be more inclined to ask.

Brother petitions parents

You marry and petition spouse

You and Parent move, you, parents if needed to help can sponsor Husband.

Husband follows when interview and AP complete.

This is probably the best way to go about this situation

How can he be your husband if you are not married yet?

I am wondering the same.

It is possible that the OP had their actual legal wedding ("nikah") and has not "left her home" yet.  It is not uncommon for a woman to get married in Pakistan, legally and religiously, and then "leave her home" a few months later.  During this interim period, many women will speak as if they are not married (since they have not cohabited), even though they are indeed married.

The OP needs to clarify if she is married (had a "nikah" done) or not

I know what a nikah is, I signed one myself. If a couple has signed a nikah namah, it makes them legally married in the eyes of immigration. There is no debate on that fact.

To the OP: if you signed a nikah namah you are legally married in the eyes of immigration and your only option at this point, is the CR1.

Ok, I was just clarifying for others.

I agree with Cathi, once you have signed the Nikah Nama, you are legally married, and the CR1 route is the only option available to you
