I received(at my home in Canada) the packet 3 instructions a couple months ago while I was abroad in the States with my fiancee. I only got home recently. Now I'm scrambling to understand and acquire all I need. However, I am struggling to understand much. I'm scared and overwhelmed.

If someone could help me by simple step by step instructions and a list of exact documents/paperwork I need, for things like "Evidence of petitioner’s domicile in the United States" and "Evidence of relationship between petitioner and beneficiary" that'd be great. Luckily at about 5 things don't apply to me on the check list.

I'm just so terrified of not having all I need, screwing this up and getting denied.

domicile can be proved by drivers license and tax transcript or pay stub with address on it

proof of relationship can be any number of things, including what you initially sent with the k1. proof of meeting, a few photos, a few text snippets/ etc, wedding plans if you have anything concrete, etc

Your petitioner should be helping you with this and indeed doing most of the work here.

So for the one question you noted (domicile) I’d suggest the same pile that is required to enroll a kiddo in a local school.

Evidence of domicile:  A copy of a drivers license, lease or deed, and any current utility bill.  All 3.

The support affidavit will have tax info and bank statements, those items have an address and the address should match up to the above.

Evidence of relationship:  Proof of visits like passport stamps, travel records, hotel receipts, and photos together.  Proof of how you routinely communicate (do not print out a million pages of chat - just a few sprinkled spread out examples).  Proof of your wedding plans after entry.  Even discussions about your plans are good.

Rarely:  If you have started moving assets or blending assets via banking transfers or anything like that - any documentation of that is good.

Police certificate is on you.  You have to obtain one.

What else did they ask for

When submitting P3, you just send back the checklist, DS-160 confirmation w barcode, and biographical page of your passport.

Here is a list of everything I brought to my K1 interview. I bolded the things they actually took at the interview.

  • Confirmation page of DS-160

  • A copy of the letter that the consulate sent via e-mail

  • Proof of interview payment

  • Passport and copy of biographical page

  • Proof of fiance's domicile in the U.S.

    • Utility bills

  • Copy of US fiance's status in USA

    • Passport biographical page

    • Birth Cert.

  • Copy of long form birth certificate

  • Police check

  • Affidavit of support (I-134) with all supporting financial documents.

    • Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account: (1) Date account opened; (2) Total amount deposited for the past year; and (3) Present balance

    • 2018 Tax return and W2s

    • Contract

    • Paystubs

Dang it, I messed up on the DS-160. I put my current city as my birth city and didn't notice until after I sent it! Can I clear this us during the interview?
