depends on the officer, they may not even ask about your current work status, honestly majority of the questions they ask is directed toward the applicant, not the USC, BUT in case they ask about any changes, just tell them this happened recently, be honest, don't try to brush it off, worst case they will tell you to get a co-sponsor, but let's hope they don't even ask.

AOS/EAD/AP ->: 11/29/18 - NOA1: 12/04/18

Going forward with a change of circumstance but without changing the I-864 would be lying.  While it was true when signed, it would be inappropriate to try to use this knowing that the IO would deny the AOS based on the current circumstances.

of course having a co sponsor is the safest and honest thing to do. But with a short time-frame like this, finding a sponsor is hard to begin with, to find someone in less than 2 weeks ready to take such responsibility is a miracle. I know the IO has the right to deny, but i would hope they have the decency to be more understanding and just give an RFE instead of a denial.

They would likely RFE if the person isn't tring to hide something.  If someone is trying to hide something and it comes out, let's not kid ourselves about whose decency we're talking about.  Your post was entirely about "don't say anything unless it's mentioned."

Thanks for the advice;

There is no way we will get a co sponsor.

We will go down the route of getting a temporary job.

We will bring a new I864 with the temporary job salary - just in case.

And PRAY for them not to ask questions related to his current job status.

Thanks a lot and Happy hollidays

Thank you for your answers and help.

My husband was asked about his job situation and he explained to the officer the actual situation.

He was understanding and took the documents.

I was approved for a green card on the spot.
