Hello!

Our documents are all "accepted"-- however, they left us a "case FE review note" for additional documents- the US petitioner's (a citizen) divorce certificate and 2018 tax return.  I submitted them and am wondering when they will get reviewed.  I am worried we will be sent to the back of the line again, having to wait another 3 months for our documents to be reviewed.   Because these are additional documents and not core documents, do they review them right away?  I really hope so because we have already been set back 3 months due to the wrong "police certificate" being submitted (in Canada they want a "certified criminal record check" not a police certificate at all!  So annoying!)

We submitted our 1-130 in December last year-- it was accepted in August.  We still haven't had our interview scheduled.  This process has been painfully slow.

Unfortunately, once you submit, you have to start the wait all over again. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong of course. I'm on my third submission. Lol. Hopefully it won't take three months though!

Divorce papers are a core document that should have been submitted with application

and 2018 are core documents for the NVC stage

You should not go to the end of the line but you can prepare things by doing your 2019 tax returns ASAP

as an interview could happen after the 15th of April

so, get the taxes done (make sure it says married either filing separate of joint) and get the IRS transcript as soon as the returns are processed

Also on 3rd submission. Confirmed from NVC phone line, unfortunately you get put at the back of the line. On the state page where it talks about the steps, they update where nvc is currently looking at. So for instance, my 2nd submission was on the 25th of October, and they updated that "as of December 16th we are looking at documents submitted October 28th" .

Strangely, they didn't ask for the divorce cert the first time they responded-- why would that be?   It says it is an "Additional AOS Supporting Document" which was requested post-review.  Why wouldn't they just ask for everything they need all at once after the first review???  I guess "fairness" isn't a priority for them... just have to wait it out.  Hopefully I won't have to do this 3 times!!  Sorry to hear that!  Best of luck...

W2s and 1099s (if applicable) show wages earned and must be submitted with the tax returns for the three years.  You didn't so you need to fix this.  Scan and upload the W2s and 1099s via CEAC so that NVC can review them.

They did not ask for all of the documents they needed after my first submission—  As if they did not review my whole submission but just part of it.

fortunately, our docs got accepted after the third submission on Feb 24th, 2020.  As of March 18th we still have not been scheduled for an interview.

Because of the submission mishaps we incurred 6 months of extra waiting.  We wanted to save the lawyer fees- so we did everything ourselves.  Was it worth it?!?  Our situaltion is pretty easy- living a few hours away from each other with flexible work schedules- even still it has been challenging.

Hey ,

Can you guys confirm that when you uploaded the new additional doc, the status remained the same as "Accepted" and the additional document was reviewed and DQ'ed.

Just want to be super cautious after I have uploaded the additional doc and dont see any change in status.

Hi, we noticed that the timeframes on their website can be wrong, because we submitted some documents that got approved after a week, while the website says 90 days. We are on our third submissio , lol.
