Denver radio station has canceled a conservative talk show after one of its hosts on Wednesday wished for a "nice school shooting" to interrupt the media coverage surrounding the impeachment proceedings against President Trump. 

Chuck Bonniwell, a conservative radio host, made the remarks during 710 KNUS's "Chuck & Julie" afternoon program. After noting the "never-ending impeachment" of Trump, Bonniwell joked that "you wish for a nice school shooting to interrupt."

Julie Hayden, his wife and co-host, immediately interjected, telling Bonniwell, "Don’t even say that."

Chastised by his wife on air, fired from his job, publicly called out for his error (rightly so), what do you think an appropriate punishment is? I think he was hit pretty hard for his flip attitude and error in judgment. You wanr more punishment?

That and cancer cancel culture being guided by knee-jerk like this to justify their own irrational overreactions to things.

 

I disagree with you about the cancelling of this show (what you call firing) but I don't know the nature of everything surrounding it. He did say something "wrong" per se, but like everything it should be taken in context. Maybe his show had done stuff to piss off the station's listeners before and this is the "last straw".. in that case, justified. But if nothing/little was done before, and listeners liked the show, clearly an overreaction by the station. Every capitulation to knee-jerk is just a reinforcement of this behavior. It's not something that can ever be satiated, so can expect more attempts to find things to get offended by and "cancel" people one has a personal animus toward.

No , he paid the price. Others have made worse mistakes on the air and come back.
