Hey guys! I am brand new to the k1 process and will be filing my I-129f paperwork next month. =]

I just got into doing concrete a few years ago and have been switching to different companies each year it seems. I was mostly wondering if my spotty work history will have an effect on my Affidavit of Support. I've made more then the income requirements each year but I'm worried that not having a stable job will get us denied. Has anyone else dealt with this or know anything about it and could give me some peace of mind?

It's important to have "stable" income but as long as your tax returns show that you're consistently making over the minimum poverty limits for your case, it will help significantly. But of course, all of this is a "good assumption" because officers always have the freedom under "totality of circumstances".

What I suggest you do is get a letter from your employer showing how long you've worked and your prospects for the future. That way, you can have some leverage to prove you've got "stable" income.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.

If they deny my Affidavit of Support for any reason, will I have a chance and time to get a co-sponsor?

the affidavit of support is not until AOS, but the i 134 is similar.

Yes, they will issue an RFE for a joint sponsor. usually.

Why not be prepared now, look at your tax transcripts and current income, and if any possible issue, go ahead and line one up. I'm a big fan of thinking 'worst case scenario' and preparing for that. My income was WELL over the requirements (by three times), and i still had my dad on board just in case for some bizarre reason, i needed a joint sponsor. paranoid, perhaps. i like to call it well prepared. LOL

i 485, 130, EAD and AP

It says the beneficiary has to bring my signed affidavit of support to the interview. I'm just afraid they wont think I have a stable work history since I've had a few different jobs in the past 5 years. I've been trying to find a joint sponsor but each of my family members are either retired or self employed and the ones who are self employed make less then the requirement for self employed sponsors. =/

Be prepared to explain it.

Your work history is spotty because of .......?

If your explanation (with supporting documentation) show you were in school and  that caused you to have short-term  positions 'here & there'  it's fine.

OTOH if the 'spottiness' is from stints of incarceration or  rehab, you have some work to do.

Be prepared to explain it and document your explanation.  Sell yourself and  be creative.  As long as you're truthful, you can do it provided  your most recent tax transcript meets the  minimum.

It only takes a year to create a new tax record of sufficient income.

Thanks for the tips! The reason its spotty is because I kept advancing my pay at other companies. The first place wouldn't raise me above 10/hr and the second place wouldn't raise me above 15/hr and the place I'm at now is paying me 18/hr and I have pay stubs to prove the pay raises. I'm trying to get together a couple joint sponsor backups just in case.

I was wondering if my mother who lives in the same house as me can apply jointly to make up the income requirements If i filed alone? She's self employed and I was wondering if there's a different income requirement for people who are self employed?
