There's still time to get insurance, if you're worried about it.

Yeah I guess so! I hear that you can only apply in certain dates of the year, or in special occasions like a marriage, but this time of the year must be the time where there are openings for registering to a health insurance, regardless, I discovered that also part timers in my job are able to get benefits which is a crazy concept to me, but I guess I'll be getting it probably soon! my training is already next week, am excited! my job is going to be physically labor some, but if it means working up to have health insurance (and a really good pay) it would worth it!

I also was able to reverse engineer my backup files, but the damn OEM backup app only backed up it's own bloatware's data instead of the rest of my apps, assuming how heavy the backup was, I was confident it backed up all of my apps, I guess unfortunately not then, so I am unable to restore some of my bookmarked VJ threads or any other info that I found helpful 😔

I am researching all over again, but obviously I wasnt able to find the most helpful ones I have seen, but I have been building up this list and I am still working on it, and open for ideas!!

  • pictures (we collected 400 so far that are documenting our timeline with each other and the family in different events through the years!)
  • IDs/drivers license (both)
  • birth certificates (both)
  • social security
  • work permit
  • marriage certificate
  • bank statement showing that were a joint
  • any christmas or cards addressed to both of us
  • health insurance (if achievable by)
  • tax transcript
  • letter from our parents stating were paying rent and utilities (we still are trying to find a formal way to write it down)
  • letter from mom stating authenticity of our marriage
  • ALL USCIS letters (maybe)
  • airbnb/hotel/travel itineraries
  • chat logs ect
  • telephone bill showing both of our numbers
  • medical record
  • notice of action for interview
  • adjustment of status/all forms we submitted copies
  • passport
  • joint credit card statement
  • any tickets we collected from concerts or events we attended to
  • joint car insurance (sorta, I dont have a drivers license so they put my name and ID on their insurance to state that my wife is married to me)
  • gifts we have bought for eachother
  • flight tickets (from home to the US)
  • minor stuff like our facebook posts to each other (valentines\birthday\annivarsary), stuff we did prior coming to the US like webcamming, watching stuff online together through services like Rabb.it, us sending care packages to eachother, etc.

We however still waiting for the letter from the USCIS, starting to get a little bit worried, I hear people dont get theirs often

Special enrollment dates are for the exchange, or with an employer. You're always free to call BCBS, United, or the insurance company that suits you.

ohhhhhhhh!!!! this whole time I thought that it was for just enrolling a medical insurance! I always saw mentions on VJ and other sources about that there are specific dates for enrollment but never a mention that it was for when you exchange an insurance, I always thought it was silly but now it makes more sense!

Thank you!!

No, the exchanges are where you can pick (sometimes subsidized) insurance.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_insurance_in_the_United_States#Private_health_care_coverage

A year ago when we were doing our papers and preparing the packet to send to the USCIS, we spent a generous time scanning each piece of paper and everything that we were including in the packet, creating a perfect copy of what we sent to the USCIS.

We compressed it via zip/rar and sent it to ourselves on email, we had to do it on a different computer at the time so for security reasons, we needed to delete our scans and the compressed file from that same computer.

We have been very confident that we had a copy of the entire package.

However, its no where to be found! not in any of our emails, we havent found anything in our online conversations, we searched up our computers and revisited the computer we created the scans on, its just gone, I dont know what happened! this is really devastating as we were planning to bring it to the interview...

The letter is still no present, what should I do?

I filed a case for a missing letter through their website, but they might respond a little bit too late.. they updated my case with "scheduled an interview" on the 18th of December, but the estimate for the uscis to respond to my missing appointment letter request is until the 15th of January..

What do they typically do when responding to those cases? do they reschedule or do they sent out a new letter for the same appointment date?

I am terrified of missing the appointment..

Are there any extra measures I should take in the matter? should I submit a different form of a request for a new appointment or something like that through sending paperwork through mail requesting new forms? or there is a specific place I should reach out to-to report my missing appointment letter?

I know you have had issues with calling before but that is always an option, could at least make them aware that the missing mail is time sensitive.

Also, the letter might still come, USPS is very slow this time of year, I just got a bio appt letter dated 12/12 in the mail yesterday (12/28).

Thats a relief to hear that you got your letter eventually!

And unfortunately I couldn't find a way to talk to a representative when I was making attempts calling the uscis, this is actually how I found out how to use their website to send out a concern about a missing appointment letter, because their automated system really insists that you would use their website

I have the feeling that because of covid there are actually no one to reach out for over their phone hotline

But if any of you were recently able to reach out to a person to speak to over the phone, I'd try calling them again and see how I can wiggle my way through the automated menu and get someone to talk to

When you call, keep saying technical difficulties.

Finally got the letter! And we only have two weeks till the interview, for some reason they spesifically have, scheduled the letter to arrive on the 9th of January.

I wish there was any progress with out amended taxes, we amended them in June-July 2020 and we only got a letter a month or two ago asking if we are confirming the information that we sent them is correct (and we forgot to make a copy..) and we haven't gotten a response ever since, and I can't any info from the IRS about our amended taxes, it says that it non exist, so the transcript still says my wife has filed their taxes as single.. All I got to prove that we have amended the taxes is back when I was requesting an ITIN number back in March (and was able to amend on June-July when the social number had arrived)

Also on the paper they say that one of the things we MUST bring is a replica of what we submitted to them, and we still can't find the copy that we have made..

And because of covid, most services are just closed or are out of order, or needed an appointment for and it's making the prepation extremely difficult and even unachievable to a point, even ad far as printing pictures, the printing kiosks everywhere are closed and we are figuring out perhaps other ways to achieve our prints, it's crazy, I used to feel so positive about the interview but now I'm losing faith in it and I feel that we wouldn't pass it... But we have gone this far and no matter what we got to do whatever we can and see this interview through, hopefully things will turn the other way, but I feel very sadenned at this point, it's been hard.. But mustn't give up just yet.
