We have been waiting since Novemember to get anything from USCIS. Today we got a letter to go to New Orleans ASC for Bio appointment on 7 April. From what they say on the web site NO office is closed for a long time. They say to pick any other office and go at the scheduled time. This sure bothers me. Other people in this area ( Pensacola Fl.) have Jacksonville as the ASC. I don't understand why they would send a letter demanding that you go to an office that is closed.

Does anybody have current info on this topic? From what I read it may be a while before we get a green card if they have assigned us to NO.

30 May 2006 Received appointment letter for JaX on 13 July 2006

13 July Interview successful approved

20 July Received green card

30 June 08 Sent I751 to remove conditions

25 July 08 Application returned erroneously incorrect fee

27 July mailed new application with separate checks

15 Sept 08 Application returned erroneously K2 not within 90 day timeframe

17 Sept Mailed 3rd application with mountains of proof of error copied Senator Mel Martinez

09 October 4th application package sent. This time they said the app signature page was a copy

10 Oct Sent package again 4th time.

25 Oct Received another NOA for Wife with $625 for the amount with one year extension

30 Oct 2008 Still nothing for step daughter. Checks still haven't cleared the bank

24 November Checks finally cleared the bank

February biometrics for wife Nothing for daughter.

26 January 2005 - Entered US as visitor from Canada.
16 May 2005 - Assembled health package, W2s.
27 June 2005 - Sent package off to Chicago lockbox.
28 June 2005 - Package received at Chicago lockbox.
11 July 2005 - RFE: cheques inappropriately placed.
18 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-485, I-131, I-765 received!

It says on their web site just to show up at any office with the orders. I sure wish they would print some instructions on the paper they sent me!

Thank you for answering. I am not getting much help here. I would think there would be a lot of people going through this office that could help.

To answer your question "No". We are about 6 hours drive from New Orleans. Everybody else here gets sent to Jacksonville which is also about 6 hours drive.

I have things that I have just learned today: I have somebody in New Orleans that is going to the office for me but it turns out that this is a new office that will not be ready until Monday morning. I called a lady in the strip mall where it will be and she told me that they don't even have phone lines installed yet. We are trying to find out if they will be ready for bio's by the end of the week. We have a backup plan. Our appointment is at 9 AM so if there is a problem then we will still have time to get to Jackson Mississippi by lunchtime. It is a 3 hour drive from NO.

This really sucks they used to have an office in Pensacola which is about 45 minutes from here.

Again. Thanks for answering. VJ has been pretty weak for me on this one! I have been here for a while and we have found a lot of info on this site.

How close are you to the ASC office? Can you stop by there to see if they are open? (on a day before your Interview?)
