Hi!

Just wanted to clarify what's needed to expedite EAD (I-765) process. Do I just need a job offer or do I need more evidence? How soon can I submit a request to expedite? I sent my full AOS application on 13th December and tracking says it arrived to the lockbox on 15th December. I'm yet to receive any communication from USCIS that they've received my application nor have they taken payment from my credit card. Do I need to wait to request to expedite EAD? should I be worried I haven't heard anything?

Also, when applying for jobs should I mention I'm waiting for EAD? Or should I just say I have authorization to work in the USA? Reason why I'm asking is because I'm not sure if this would hurt my chances of getting a job offer.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Generally, one needs a solid job offer.  Also, I am not sure you can file to expedite until the EAD NOA has been received.

Good Luck!

Following because I am expecting a formal written offer by tomorrow (as per communication during a successful interview I had on Tuesday).

I didn't even think about applying for jobs until after my biometrics but I don't know how the process exactly so I'm looking at what others did/are doing about an EAD expedite.

I was 100% upfront about my immigration status and my inability to work in the last paragraph of my cover letter.

to my knowledge, you cant do anything until you have the NOA1 and have completed biometrics. Probably a month or two out from now.

The most common reason to expedite is a solid, written job offer. You need to submit other evidence with it as well.

Oh hey fellow Canadian! I see you were also at the Norfolk office :)

What is the initial request for EAD expedite in your timeline?

Do I call USCIS first? I assume I will need a letter from HR in addition to the offer? I'm not sure when to ask for letter, but assuming the offer is decent I plan to accept it and then I contact HR for a letter to help expedite my EAD?

I recieved a letter from my local union office in Washington stating the amount of work available. We contacted uscis to request an expidite then they sent an email requesting information about the job and reasons I needed to start working early ie my alimony payments and other financial obligations that were not normal household expenses

my husband is the Canadian- that would be tinman71, above lol ;)

after you have a written job offer, call USCIS. They will email you a few days later asking for the information. You upload it and send it.

You do not need anything other than the written job offer from the company.
