Link doesn't work, and NYT requires money.  Bleh.

But I think this was a foregone conclusion from over 3 weeks ago.   What will be interesting is to see what happens to Comey.

Most likely he will be acquitted by the Senate.

Just like Clinton, I guess. Still membership has it's privileges. He at least needs a new nickname now. I think Teflon Don would work.

But if 50% of the country supports impeachment AND removal (as shown in the recent Fox poll of a couple of days ago), and another 4% supported impeachment without removal, why will this mean the end of the Democratic party?

I don't think the people have a say. Clinton got more votes from the people than Trump. Still, he became president by the electoral vote.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Remember when the Republicans never won again after the Clinton impeachment? Neither do I. Hooray for hyperbole.

Half of Americans don't even remember what quid pro quo means. Unless they drag this out until next year, it really shouldn't even be an issue on election day.

Well, I tend to think polls are just a snapshot. But the numbers for and against impeachment have not significantly moved during the process, except for an increase in the number of independents who support (up 7% IIRC).

We can all cherry pick polls all day, true. But there are things to be said for trends that develop over time and stay stable.
