Hi there, a lil advice please,

my case is ready for the visa aplicación, interview etc, I summit the I-129 myself, but now, I’m not a expert on this and definitely don’t want to messed up, so I’m thinking on get a immigration lawyer to continue the process, my fiancé is abroad so as I see, she have to apply for the visa, how is more practical? Get a lawyer here in the US to continue the filling or over there where she lives?

Thanks!

Why do you think you need a lawyer?

Which consulate?  A lawyer in the US cannot really help with anything at this point.  They will notify your fiancée of her appointment, and she simply attends it.  A lawyer will not speed up the process or make it any more likely she will be approved for the visa.

Thanks for your response, is no that I need a lawyer because we have any issues, is because I have little knowledge of what’s next!

i mean what is the next step, Paying the fees etc, I will though look for information on how to do it myself, might be easy and I’m just making it look hard 😅

thanks.

Agree !! ^^^^

You really need to do some reading and checking around this site, there is a lot of good free information for you. For example, the VJ K1 Visa Flowchart is a good source of "What's Next?" info, the timeframe may be off, but the scheme of events is still good: https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa-flowchart/

Regarding lawyering up: If your case is simple with no complications, there is no need for you to pay for an attorney. Thousands of couples, like me and my now wife, successfully used the VJ site info to get the necessary visas and immigration documents.  Save your money, and instead spend it on a nice honeymoon with your new bride.

Good luck on your immigration journey and Happy Holidays !!

First thing we need you to do is complete your profile. So, we need a little housekeeping from you if you will. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks
