Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, we're so thankful to have found this site!

I received package 3 from Vancouver today, and I have two questions that I hope someone can help me with. On the page for Medical Examinations it states If the applicant has had treatment or hospitializtion for any illness it is mandatory that written cerification of such illness with diagnosis, treatment and prognosis be presented.

First dumb question - how far back does that go? I've never been in hospital except a couple of days with pneumonia when I was 8 years old. Do I have to get the records for that?

Second question - what is Dr. Ian Morgan in Vancouver like? I have to decide if I should have my medical done in Edmonton or Vancouver.

Thanks,

Mopsie

I can't see how that would cause any difficulties. I'm sure they are aware that kids are hospitalised for this or that. I think that's more for a serious illness recently maybe? If you do decide to list it, I would notate that the illness was x number of years ago. JMHO.

I told the Doctor I had surgery in 2000 for my Gallbladder. I didn't need anything from the Surgeon or the Hospital.

I went to Dr Chana in Edmonton. He himself was fine, but the b#tches who work for him are another story.

I had two hospital stays - one for a severe kidney infection, followed by medicine-induced pneumonia (7 days), and another (10 days) after diagnosis and treatment for type 1 diabetes. I did not have to nor was I asked to present anything written about either event or my medical condition at my medical. I advised the physician; she made the necessary notations - and that was it.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I also think they're looking for "serious" stuff, i.e. TB, HIV, etc. - anything that could a)be communicable or B) cause a hardship on the US health system.

Me? I just answered all Dr.'s questions with a big NO (records are in lovely Mexico: try getting them, and my health history is as boring as re-runs of bad comedies). Exemption made when he asked what meds I was on, if any - that I did respond accurately. I did this thinking that they would do a medical/tox/blood whatever screen or something like that and didn't want to not tell and have it backfire... .only to find out that NO,they don't do a tox screen..... Duuuuh.

I'm sure you'll be fine.

good luck, L.
