Do we both need evidence. like to we both need receipts, photos, airline tickets etc.... in other words to we need the same evidence for when we do the interview. I'm just curious on that so that way I know for him to keep some evidence for when I go over to visit him in a few days.

you want to keep and provide all evidence for the interview. it doesnt matter who it 'belongs' to.

11/7/2019      Interview- Norfolk

11/10/2019    APPROVED (notification rec'd 11/10, approval dated 11/8)

DONE FOR TWO YEARS!!! ;)

 

Filed everything ourselves with no RFE's or delays.

 

CR1 for Child under 21 (20 at time of filing)- Filed by LPR Spouse for his son

4/4/20     Mailed packet

4/12/20   NOA1 rec'd

10/14/21 (havent heard anything... when do i start to get worried?)

9/15/22 APPROVED! Now to wait for NVC and interview....

all you have to state is your intent to marry within 90 days of arrival. its not a love story.

it will not affect it as long as he was legally able to marry you as of the petition filing date.

 

my husband was separated from his ex for 2 years before the divorce was final. We started dating during that time. We filed the k1 about a month after he received the divorce decree. no issues.

There are two different letters you may be confusing here. The first is the "letter of intent to marry", the second is the "circumstances of meeting" statement. Both serve different functions. The first one, the "letter of intent to marry" is virtually required as evidence of intent to marry. The second, the COM is not explicitly required, but it's highly recommended.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.
