Hmm, there are a few States that allow you Medicare from day 1, is that what you are referring to? Or have you been here 5 years plus.

Can you get Medicaid in Mass as a LPR with less than 5 years residence?

@Boiler  ACA is not medicaid. Through marketplace you might get tax discounted premium if you qualify but you still pay for health insurance

Define what people mean by OCare, certainly in my State you go through the Exchange which kicks you into Medicare, even if you are not eligible.

Medicare is health insurance that’s only available to elderly & disabled. No state offer medicare to anyone else. If it’s medicaid you are talking about then when you go thru market place if your immigration status won’t qualify you for medicaid ( LPR less than 5yrs ) then that part is skipped automatically ... that’s how it’s atleast in our state. You hve to provide documents proving ur immigration status

Seems Medicaid in your State does require 5 year presence, you can certainly buy through the exchange, I thought many Students got theirs through the College?
