Misplaced I-751 Extension Letter

I am feeling really down about this.

We have to move out by the end of January. Since I just gave birth to our first son 2 months ago, I have been packing things little by little.

In packing things... I seem to have misplaced my husbands I-751 Extension letter. We purchased tickets to go to the Dominican Republic on January 28th, 2020.

I am panicking and don't know what to do. Does USCIS issue duplicate documents? Can someone guide me please? I am the petitioner in this process.

Thank you in advance.

You husband is the petitioner in his ROC application not you.

he can try and ask for a duplicate online but I will probably end up with him having to call USCIS for an info pass appointment and get a stamp in his passport.

Thank you so much for your reply!

Does the stamp hold the same weight as the extension letter? Meaning, will it be as respected as the letter? What is the likelihood that they can issue an actual duplicate?

No the stamp will act like a GC.

not very likely but he can always try.

My wife flew back from the Philippines just a month ago and had a I-551 stamp on her passport and didn't bring her extension letter with her. They let her back in with no issue apart from asking about the different last name (her passport still had her maiden name but her ticket and her CA ID had her married name, albeit with the maiden name also spelled out) and asking if she had a marriage certificate with her. She didn't but the officer let her through. However, she had already gone back and forth previously so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Also, her green card arrived a week prior to her return and I was waiting outside the gate with it just in case :P

Get that Infopass Appointment for the stamp and let the officer know your concerns, and good luck!
