A Reminder that Green Card Holders Can Donate to Political Campaigns

So as you all know know, only US citizens are allowed to vote in elections. However, permanent residents are allowed to donate to political candidates, so if you'd like to contribute to your chosen candidate, go ahead and donate (as long as you have a green card). If you don't have a green card, you can't donate money but you can volunteer if you'd like.

My spouse shares my political views, so he could donate but I personally felt good donating myself. I also like that I increased the number of individual donors by one by donating in my name (my preferred candidate already has the highest number of individual donors but more is always beneficial).

So if you want to be involved in the political process, you can. Just make sure you don't vote until you're a citizen.

None of the (not VJ friendly word) will get a cent from me.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
