My husband wants to petition his mom. We own two apartments, we live in one, and the other one is empty. Can his mom live there? Or does the she (beneficiary) have to live with us/her son (petitioner)?

 

Also, does anyone know how long it takes to petition a parent from the Philippines? I know it varies for siblings. Is it the same for parents? Thanks.

She can live in a different State if she wants to.

8-12 months for the I-130 and 2-4 months for NVC, so 12-16 months from I-130 filing until interview appointment?
