Hello everyone,

Does anyone know the procedure of how to get your interview rescheduled at the Islamabad embassy, Pakistan? I can’t find much info online.

I know I should post this in the country specific section. But doing it here to cast a wider net of responses. My humble request to mods to not move it.

Thanks in advance!

There's no option online to do it. You're going to have to email / contact them to request a rescheduling of your interview. If you're able to do it on ustraveldocs, then give it a try over there first.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.

Hi Pmta1, thanks for your response. I tried ustraveldocs but it does not give any reschedule option (nor does it show the already scheduled appointment). I have submitted an inquiry form on the Islamabad Embassy website. Could you give me their email?

For CR1/IR1, you cannot schedule your own appointment. When the embassy gets open slots for interviews, they will tell NVC, and it will be scheduled for you. You can't do it yourself

Edit: my bad, did not realize this was for a reschedule; try to call the embassy if they don't respond by email

Unfortunately I can’t find an email address. Let’s see if they respond to the inquiry form.

Good point, you should contact the NVC and see if they're able to assist you with the rescheduling.

Could try that. Via the NVC inquiry email?

Try calling the up first, as I think that'll be faster. But if not, you can submit an online inquiry through the online submission form.

Just a note that I would advise against trying to reschedule an interview unless it is an extreme circumstance.  Why do you need to reschedule it?

Hi pushbrk, thanks for your response! I need to reschedule it because my J-1 visa home residency requirement will not be completed by the time my interview is scheduled. Which is why I want to take the interview forward.

What do you advise?

15 days. Interview is currently scheduled for 16th January and my J-1 requirement ends on 1st February.

Problem is I have heard/read (on VJ only) that certain embassies are strict and outright reject visas for such scenarios. And I think it's a safe bet to assume that Pakistan embassy is among the stricter ones.

They will issue a 221g which is a denial that can be overcome. Often they will just put the person into AP until they meet the requirements.  Are you male or female?
