Denial after approval in US citizenship interview?

Hi

I recently got approval in US citizenship interview, and was told that I should wait for letter for oath ceremony.

But I am wondering if there is ever a rejection after approval in US citizenship interview?

Here is why I am, concerned...

You see, in 1994, I was involved in a theft/shoplifting situation, for which the charges were later dropped.

I had completely, honestly forgotten about it, and did not mention it in my citizendship appln form.

In the citizenship interview, the immigration officer brought it up. I immediately remembered, and described what happened truthfully...

She was nice about it, and annotated my form right there, to say that the charges had been dropped etc.

She then proceeded to test me on US governement, the typical etst etc, and then said that she was recomending me for approval, and that I should expect an invitation to the oath ceremeny in 6 weeks.

Now, my question is, Am I over the hump? or is ther a possibility that I have screwed up, and I could be rejected now?

Please advise.

You are over the hump, the interviewing officer approved you, and you were truthful when asked, and it was noted.

Thanks. :)

That is a relief. You see, it was so long ago, that I was rattled, when she brought it up. :)

Have you heard of cases where denials happen after approval, for a incident that happened a decade ago?

Probaly rare, huh?

Thanks

Unfortunatly you are never cleared until you actually get your oath in hand. The IO only recommends you for the Oath ceremony, that doesn't mean it's signed sealed and delivered. People have been pulled out of the Oath ceremony as well. So generally the IO will say they recommed you, then it gets sent off to the deciders who then will figure out if more information might be needed from you or if they'll take the IO's suggestion and administer the Oath.

Once in the Oath Ceremony when you get your certificate, that will mean that everthing went smoothly. No one I saw was pulled from my oath ceremony, but they were talking about the previous one where a few people were pulled and escorted out for some reason or another...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
