Hi! 
 

very confused, me and my fiancé got an RFE and replied to it, then when I checked online it said our case was scheduled for an interview, but now I have received my EAD card? I thought I would receive a letter for an interview before this? Or am I wrong? I hope the letter hasn’t gone missing I am so confused in how this is meant to go and my lawyer is helpful but very busy? Can someone explain this to me? Would be of great help.

The EAD and AOS are related but processed separately. No interview needed for the EAD.

I know that, but I meant for my actual case. They said it was ready for interview for our approval, why am I receiving my EAD before I’m receiving an interview notice? I’m very confused

As stated, they are processed separately. It just so happens that your EAD was approved before the interview notice was received. My wife got her EAD about 7 or so months before her interview notice.

Ahh thank you sorry I misunderstood the first time. I have another question is that okay, since we’ve been waiting around for the EAD AND SOCIAL security number I haven’t been able to have myself put on any of my wife’s stuff, will I receive this soon?

If you applied for an SSN on the I-765, that will arrive shortly afterward. If not, or you really need one sooner, you can go to the SSA with the EAD and apply for one at that time. Assuming no manual verification is necessary, normally it takes about a week or 2 for the card to arrive in the mail.

I’m pretty sure we applied for one with the other, I’ll make sure to check with my lawyer. If not, shall do that as It would be nice to have health insurance and a bank account haha! Thank you very much.

Note that health insurance does not require an SSN. By law, it cannot be required for any ACA-compliant plan.
