top link has the fed ex tracking hack to see when your stuff arrives and the second link has full info on what to do next for London. These links are in the Nov NOA2 to NVC to embassy thread.

There are inaccuracies in that second link. It has older information and sends you to a tourist visa instruction page instead of the K1 instructions.

The first link is a way to see if packages went from NVC to London. It does not show if your file was in the shipment. It's only a guess that yours was due to be sent and might be in the shipment. And if it shows the shipment arrived in London, it means it made it to the offsite mail receiving area. It does not mean it was opened or sent to the embassy building or that the Immigrant Visa Unit has logged in receiving your file.

Once you get your new case number (LNDXXXXXXXXX) by calling NVC or waiting on their email, you can use the LND number to check the status of your specific  case here. https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

it may say "in transit" if on the way or "ready" if London has the case and is ready for you to proceed.

Thanks, we have this information - my post earlier was regarding actual documentation to bring for the interview. It says our package is in transit per the site above. We have the new case number already. We got it on Monday :) which was an nice Christmas present. We plan to wait to submit the DS-160 until my fiance gets the package in the mail.

The most important thing right now is getting prepared for the medical. Sometimes NHS is slow to help you and provide what you need to take from the GP.

Police certificate that says NO TRACE or lists offenses

photos

shot record from GP office

SHOTS from GP. , Boots, a travel clinic, Tesco clinic, etc

Heath Summary print out from GP office

Short report on any health conditions or surgeries written by GP

Something verifying the LND number (either the email from NVC or the letter from London have that number printed on it and will work)

Police certificate that says NO TRACE or lists offenses - We need to get his British sized passport photo then can submit the application to get the report

photos - We need to get the one British sized for the police record, then two 2x2 for the medical examination

shot record from GP office - My fiance made his doctor appointment with his GP in January already to get those records January 12th (earliest he could get in - he plans to get everything regarding the below (immuz records, anything at that doctor appt)

SHOTS from GP. , Boots, a travel clinic, Tesco clinic, etc

Heath Summary print out from GP office

Short report on any health conditions or surgeries written by GP

Something verifying the LND number (either the email from NVC or the letter from London have that number printed on it and will work) - We have the email I printed out already with that number on it and gave my fiance a copy too. I assume I will also get it in the post from the NVC (the email I got) but going back home tomorrow from seeing my family for the holiday.

@Caitlin Kennedy

Passport size photos

1 British size for police report (you upload it so can use the actual photo at your medical)

4 British size for medical exam. They take either size but British are probably easiest to get.

1 US size (2x2) for interview. They scan and hand it back.

Letter from Embassy is not needed for anything if you have the email from NVC with the LND number to show at the medical.

You do not take the physical letter from the embassy to the interview. It is simply instructions to go to their website and read the K1 instructions and apply for the visa. When you pick your interview date, pay for the visa, and book the courier, a confirmation of doing that is generated. That's what they want to see at the interview...confirmation of interview date (show outside to get in) and proof that you paid (show at the first window you are called up to at interview).

You do not need the letter from the embassy before submitting the DS-160. Nobody looks at the DS-160 until the interview. Submitting it generates a confirmation that you take to the interview so they can reference it to find your DS-160 form.

Looks like it doesnt hurt to wait to submit it then.

The timeline is in your hands once your file reaches London. You decide when to do things or stall if you don't want to move asap.

Definitely. Want to move ASAP of course :) Just want to make sure everything is perfect, and of course the file does reach my fiance first. Once it is in hands we will submit the DS-160 as we do everything else we can now! Light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi, thanks for the responses and links. The medical appointment list/URL that was provided here has the below, so I figured we would get/need it. I guess that doesnt apply for K-1. http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us.htm

Appointment letter from the United States Embassy

I was reading off this website https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#5 It says non immigration k-1 fiance visa, and that they want evidence of relationship. I thought we needed continual proof of relationship but again I've seen that on so many different sites/threads we do and dont need it, saying bring pictures to the interview/etc. I find it strange they wouldnt want continual proof of relationship.

Yes, I started filling out the I-134 as I know we need that.

Read what your embassy LONDON  tells you to bring. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/LND-London.html#pre_interview_checklist

This website also has London specific information but a little different than the one you provided - we dont need the DS-260 because that is for the immigrant visa? I was going off the two sites above. This site says for immigrant visa... I am still confused if fiance is non immigrant or immigrant - (it says fiance on that site too for immigration visa)

Read this post and read the links thoroughly. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/727499-medical-and-interview-time/?do=findComment&comment=9981191 Thanks.

You keep hijacking other people's topics. Just post you own question in a new topic. Study the London embassy website K1 instructions first. They have been posted to you before. There are so many threads and so many pages I didnt want to create brand new boards when the topics have already been posted but I guess I will.

Moving forward my fiance and I will only use: https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

can someone confirm the above is correct?

The problem with not starting you own topic is your stuff is scattered and many questions aren't even about the original post title.

On the subject of finding information elsewhere. It might be generic info that covers the entire world. It might be something a person in the Philippines has experienced in Manila. It might be trying to put spouse visa info and fiancé visa info in the same place, when they have different requirements. Yes it canget confusing.

Each embassy is different in how they do things. Each medical place may have different requirements. And it changes over time. You learn what works for London by reading what people share about their experiences in London.  I have read every thread and post in this UK forum since 2008 is where I have learned what really happens. I try to give current and accurate info about the London part. If I have read 1000 London K1 interview reports that did not show photos or relationship evidence, then I am very sure you won't have to either.  That's how London rolls.

Immigrant vs Nonimmigrant

Spouse visas (IR1/CR1) are immigrant visas. They get a greencard as soon as they get off the plane in the US. They can work immediately and get a driver's license. Their forms and documents and payments are all submitted and processed at NVC and an interview date is chosen for them before the file gets to London. Their Application is DS-260.  Affidavit of support is I-864. They show their interview letter to the medical people or outside the embassy because they have an interview letter.

Fiance visas (K1) are non-immigrant visas. Entry gives you nothing more than 90 days in the US (on paper). If you want a green card you have to marry and file for adjustment of status. You can legally stay past the 90 days while waiting on AOS. You can not work or get a driver's license with just the K1 visa.  K1 has no processing at NVC except to get assigned a new case number. The application form is DS-160. The Affidavit of Support is I-134. London K1s pick their own interview date. They do not get an interview letter, but they get a confirmation when they book the interview to show the guys managing the line to get in the embassy. They also get a receipt of paying the visa fee online. All personal documents go in hand to the London interview. It is a super easy interview. They do not want to see relationship evidence. There's not much visa fraud in London so not a lot of scrutiny like other embassys enforce. Easy peasy.

In London there are two separate units processing visas: Immigrant Visa Unit and Nonimmigrant Visa Unit. K1s get handled by the Immigrant Visa Unit because they are going to stay in the US so fit better with that Unit for the paperwork part. All the rest of the non-immigrant visas are just  for a limited stay...tourists, students, entertainers, nannies, athletes, etc. They are handled by the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit. There's way more of them each day going to interviews.

So when you are checking status on CEAC, booking an appointment, or emailing the embassy with a problem, a K1 always chooses IMMIGRANT simply because that's the people who will be handling your paperwork even though K1 is a Nonimmigrant Visa. Confused yet?

And once inside the embassy on interview day, jump the long queue of NonImmigrants at the check-in counter because you are seeing the Immigrant Unit and the line is short. You will get sent upstairs quickly while the Nonimmigrants are still in line.  That's a tip you learn from reading posts in the UK forum.
