Quick question;

We are at the stage of paying for k1 1 visa fee at the nairobi embassy however no appointment available. I know some forum said to wait for appointment date to be available then you will be given instruction on how to pay through mpesa or postbank once you pick your interview date however the embassy website says that you can't schedule an appointment before paying the fees.     I have done enough research to know that this payment can't be done online so I have asked someone to make payment for.  This payment is linked to a passport and I am assuming payment have to be made to particular account at either m-pesa or postbank branch.

Anyone familiar with this please respond.   Do I have to wait for interview to receive instruction on how to pay?

Applicants will be able to schedule or re-schedule immigrant visa appointments (Including K-1 and K-3 visas) by themselves via the website or through the assistance of a new call center at (+254 20) 619-0600 +254 20 500-6656 (in Kenya) or +1 703 439 2302 (in the United States). Applicants must ensure that they select a DHL location as they schedule an appointment. This service is free of charge to our applicants. Immigrant visa applicants will continue to pay for any required visa fees at the U.S. Embassy cashier.

The state website and/ us nairobi website instruct that payment be made through m-pesa or postbank so I don't see where it says we should paid at the embassy cashier. I just need to know how payment is done, if instruction is given after you chose the date or you can just go to one those branch and ask to pay for k1 visa!

Hi there, we have been through this situation.

Once you go to the website and register, pick the DHL then you will get to paying.

Until there's a posted date at the website you can't make the payment.

Yoy need to check every day to see if there's a slot.

Once one is available you will see the payment options either by cash or Mpesa.

Choose one and pay.

But the trick is check the website regularly to see if there's a date. Sometimes it takes weeks for a date to be available just keep checking.
