In my opinion they basically made their decision based on what was already submitted. We were asked how did you meet (CO said “I read how you met and it was kind of cute”), when was the last time the US fiancé was in Haiti (it had been about 2 weeks prior) and I think that’s about it. I (US citizen) was with my fiancé and the anticipation was the hardest part..waking up early to arrive at 7, almost crashing with a goat on the motorcycle on the way to the interview, having some guy hang on to me begging for money etc.. (needless to say I don’t think everyone has these experiences depending on the country lol) I had a photo book and copies of everything but she didn’t need any other documents.

we were also there for 6 hours.. we were almost the last one to be called so that anticipation was tough as well. If you guys are legit and there aren’t any red flags don’t be too worried. Good luck! Today is actually 5 years since my husband arrived in the US 😊

Oh I forgot to relay our experience. My then-fiancee and son took a 5 hour flight from their northern Chinese city, a couple of days before, to Guangzhou, the location of the US consulate in China that does most, if not all of the visa work. I arrived in Guangzhou a day before the date of the interview. That was good since the first leg of my flight was 6 hours late leaving Seattle, thereby missing my connecting flight to Guangzhou. My total transit time was close to 16-20 hours. I was the document courier and the moral support coach. The USC petitioners are not allowed to attend the actual interview in Guangzhou. However, we had devised a plan to alert the CO aware that I was in the vicinity. The plan was to compose a "Evolution of Our Relationship" letter, that I folded lengthwise, inserted it into my passport, gave it to my fiancee and asked her have it on the top of of the papers and documents that she had to tender for the interview. It worked, the CO saw the blue US passport (Chinese passports are a maroon color), glanced at the letter, and remarked, "He is here?" He kept the letter and passed my passport back to her. Yep, I was down the hall nervously enjoying a rather expensive double non-fat latte at a Starbucks, sleep deprived and jet-lagged. The successful interview lasted about ten minutes. My spy (my now-stepson) told me how it went. He said, that the CO seemed very interested in their eye movements and body language. When the CO slid the approval paper across to my wife, he said that their visas were approved, and wished my wife a happy birthday. Yes, she had her interview on her birthday!  I am certainly glad that I made the trip, she was also pleased to have the moral support. BTW, it also counted as another visit to see one another. We enjoyed a nice dinner together. We all left the following day. I headed back to Seattle via Beijing, they went home to their city via Beijing (different flights). They had their US POE in Seattle a month later.

If they can, I encourage the petitioner to go to the interview if only to provide moral support. The visa interview is a BIG event in a relationship. You need to start to get into the habit of helping and supporting one another, that is part of what relationships are all about, right?

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey, and Happy Holidays !!!

k1 We had our interview today Santo Domingo with many red flags.  Was in line and wait was about 4 hours

at interview we speak different languages they asked 1. how we communicate, Skype translator they asked if it was a issue we explained it how were ok with it and how we understand some, as fiancée is currently in English course,  They asked me the petitioner if I sent her money, I said yes every couple weeks, like 250 usd I submitted a previous 129f for my previous spouse they asked many questions about her,,   Then they separated us and told one to sit down while the other was questioned...    and the proceeded to as financee about my 16 year old misdemeanor marijuana charge which she already knew about , then made her sit and, asked me further questions about my ex wife and marijuana charge I told them it was 16 years ago I just graduated high school I was dumb had 1 gram. And about the ex wife I just told them how it didn’t work lost feelings hard to elaborate..   they asked me how much I made a month and what I did.  I old then I had affidavit showing income and receipts showing money and all of our extra evidence but he didn’t ask for any for some reason.  Just questions..  eventually after about 10-15 minutes we we passed and informed fiancée how passport would be delivered..   if we can pass with language barrier and previous i129 petition and new marriage proposal soon after previous divorce, then I feel anyone should pass unless they hiding something really bad Or completely lie and everyone was extremely nice except the guards at the outside gate lines by the road they were rude to us
