Question on Financial Document.

I'm fairly confident that the Transcript is all that is needed. But did anyone send an actual Tax returns too? I've read that attaching an actual Return will be too many pages; and will force you to add every part that made up the return such as W2, 1099 etc.

I sent Transcripts (requested them online on IRS and came by mail in 5 days) and I added W2s only. Worked for me

Definitely don’t send the Taxes You get from Turbo tax because I heard many times that they don’t accept those

Tax transcripts wil be fine. You can mail or go online at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript for printing it out

Will do Transcripts only then. I've sent TurboTax Returns with my i-130 and it worked for me. But I'll refrain from doing so this time.

Thank you for the much needed insight.

US immigration officers prefer the IRS tax transcripts because it shows that the tax return was actually filed, and accepted by the IRS, plus it's typically fewer pages than the full 1040 return plus schedules and W2s, so it's easier for them to scan, review, etc.  If you're married, make sure you file tax returns as married filing jointly or separately since the time of marriage, as this is good evidence of a continuing marital relationship.  Good luck with your ROC process!

I’m sorry to piggyback on this post. But I’ve just downloaded the tax return transcripts and our names and address are masked. They, however, show “Married Filing Jointly” status. Are they okay? Or should I request unmasked transcripts? Thank you.

My transcripts that came by mail are the same our address and social are hidden. I think what matters is that you filed jointly and you paid taxes. A copy of both driver licenses will show similar address as well as the lease or mortgage, Utility bills...

Hi question do we upload all tax transcripts together? Or just 2018 and then the rest under additional documents?

I kept the transcripts together for the past 2 years. Put a divider page and label it 2017, 2018 perhaps? Because thats what I've done.

I've bundled items together based on their perceived grouping. Tax together. Leases together. Address proof together. Utilities together etc.

Could there be a better way than it? Possibly so. But to be honest, it's all about personal preference.

I'm worried because my wife filed head of household while i filed married but filing separately because she wanted her tax filed like that. could this be a problem?

Secondly, do i have to mail both taxes like that to USCIS for ROC??

Please help!!!!

Not an expert on the topic. You can only mail what you have; isn't it. So long you can provide explanation on why the things are done a certain way; it should suffice. May I suggest an explanatory page with the Taxes; saying why it is done that way. What do you think ? At the end of the day its about what you feel comfortable with.

Worst case scenario; you'd explain this in person in an interview down the road. People make different choices. So long your choice is not leading the USCIS officer to second guess your ROC, you are fine.
