Ok, let's recap. You have an odd box of Pasta valued at 2.00 and your dilemma is you want a vegetarian meal from it.  The answer is donate the pasta to the food bank and book reservations @ Capannina

I am really overthinking this, aren't I?

UK election results are just as hilarious as those stateside. The majority of votes for conservatives are from feeble voters who only care about their religious freedoms, which are already guaranteed. FFS, half of America votes Repuablican because they believe Obama is going to force them to marry someone of the same genger, and force them to abort an AR-15 whiile exhorting their support for Islam. It's like the special olympics being forced on everyone.

I hesitate to tell you that you are kind of off topic here, because that's kind of my specialty 😇, but the rank and file Tory voters aren't really concerned about religious freedoms or AR-15s. We have a bunch of other threads to post about this kind of stuff in.

Now, if you have any suggestions for my ditalini (which my phone autocorrects to "ritalin") I am all ears.

I have been stuck in a hotel in NYC for a month now.  You are making me hungry for home-cooking.  Stop it.  (Can't WAIT to get home and smoke some prime rib and make orzo!)

Am I a bad person for thinking Keir Starmer should win the Labour leadership because I think he's kind of hot, in an older gentleman way?

Meant to make Brussels sprouts and pancetta on New Year's Eve but I'd accidentally thrown out the pancetta in a fit of pre-move fridge cleaning. So I just tossed the sprouts in olive oil and lots of salt and pepper before roasting at 375F for about 35 minutes. I sprinkled some freshly grated parmesan on top when they were out of the oven. I could eat these like popcorn!

I saw what you said and it's fine. :P I am guilty of objectifying men on occasion. My fiancé is the usual victim. He says I only want him for his body which isn't true. I also want him for removing spiders from the home. 😊

I have him open the ones I can't. And according to him, it counts as cooking. The list of things which apparently count as cooking has developed over the years: turning up (or down) the gas on the stove; buying paper towels; handing over potholders on request; loading and unloading the dishwasher; ordering from Doordash; choosing a restaurant; etc. But he has now made several sandwiches for me and when we get into the new kitchen, we will be tackling roast chicken next.

I'll post some pics in a bit of a standing rib roast that is being converted to prime rib.  THAT should be his goal.  Chicken is for children.  Tell him I said to grow a pair!

It's times like these that I wish @Boris Farage was still around to remind us all of Alex's terrible temper. :P

Speaking of Boris, I reached out to him over Christmas because I was concerned he hadn't logged in in a while. I don't like to gossip, so suffice to say he is alive and well enough, just some woman problems. I mean, problems with women, not that he has lady problems like perimenopause or anything.

You should log back in.  I miss Boris.

Only term that strikes worse fear into the hearts of men is The First Trimester.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
