I sent 2004, 2003 and 2002 tax transcripts and W2s, about 6 months of paystubs, 1 year of bank statements, letter of employment containing everything they asked for.

All they could possible want from me is the 2005 tax stuff. I guess I'll have to redo the letter too, just to prove that I still have my job! I am just so ticked off because I did the bottom tabs just like they asked for, and put the cover letter telling them what all was in the package.

Crazy.

I'm glad I did send in my 2005 tax stuff with the response, but it really gets my goat to have to do that.

Funny how one word can really change meaning so much, i.e. YOUR most recent year and THE most recent tax year.

I guess they wanted the THE.

Believe it or not, this wasn't Casablanca, this was Missouri. Jenn, did you send your 2005 taxes to them with your package? I didn't think it was necessary so early in the year, but I guess I found out it was. I guess they're rewriting the tax code too - taxes are now to be filed before filing your AOS. You're right Aymerlu, I want a job where I can rewrite whatever law it suits me to rewrite.

Still, I guess I should be happy, they actually communicated with me which seems to be more than most offices people on here are dealing with are capable of.

I'll believe it. We got an RFE after our case was transferred to CSC. Same thing, employment information and proof of address change, although neither of us moved anywhere. o.O I'm guessing they have a tendency to lose things in the mail or whichever.

Good thing is, we were approved shortly after sending in the information.

Good luck to you!!!

I'm just waiting for our RFE for 2005 taxes now. Which if we need it we're in big trouble, because it took almost 2 months of constant calling, emailing, and showing up unannounced (because calls and emails weren't returned) to get the original AOS of the cosponsor done. If we get an RFE I can imagine we'll be delayed another few months, if we're lucky enough to get that information at all :(

Well, crossing my fingers and toes....

I wish I could mail my response so quick. I did my taxes online a few weeks ago so I had to call the IRS 800 number yesterday and order the transcripts. Of course I'll send a copy of everything I already submitted with that, as well as a new employment letter.

I guess this seems to be standard business for them. But how can they lose what is bound down with their famous acco clip!?

I just sent a photocopy of my return rather than an official transcript.

I'd have done that but the letter they sent me clearly stated that it needed to be an official transcript and even gave me the 800 number to call and order it.

Hmmm...didn't we get the same letter? Mine says "copy of tax return OR transcript", followed by the 800 number.

Yeah, probably the same letter, but when we were preparing for the package for the K-1 interview last year we had this conversation on here and discussed that to the government a printout of an online tax return doesn't count as a copy. I figured 10 days is worth waiting to send them something I know they will accept rather than send a printout and then find out it's true that they don't accept that.

I guess we'll know it's ok if they accept yours. That would be good to know the answer to for those still going through the process. Waiting even 10 days for transcripts can be frustrating if it isn't necessary.

Yeah, since I didn't send the return to the IRS until yesterday, I don't know how long it would take for official transcripts to be ready.

I did my return by hand and just sent them a photocopy. Cross your fingers for me!

Should I call the IRS and order transcripts of my past years taxes now? Will he need those for the K-1 interview? :help:

I sent the transcript in with my sponsorship form (I-134 I think, it's been awhile), which was part of the packet required for the interview.

Definately call. I called and got the transcripts within a week, where as some people here mailed their request and had to wait weeks and weeks on end.
