Another approval!  We were pretty worried because our case was transferred FROM Texas TO Vermont :(

Turns out, it wasn't the 1.5 year delay we were expecting.  If anyone else is in this boat, it worked out for us!

Priority Date: 31 Dec - Texas Service Center

NOA-1: 4 Jan

Transfer to Vermont: 23 Feb

Case Status Update: 23 Feb, 1 May, 11 May, 12 May

NOA-2: 12 May

Best of luck everyone!

Congrats, It worked out for u and will for most people, but the downside is case ends up in Vermont and for some reason it gets stuck(extended background check/what not, like in my case), you can't do anything until the 21 months passes and can open case inquiry. I know this is the extreme/worst case scenario, but it is there.

Yeah, that was also our concern.  I saw you've been tied up since July 19; that's terrible.  The system does seem to be random.  Hopefully they get over whatever your hurdle is soon - this whole process is ridiculous to begin with.  Were I going the other way (wanting to live with my wife in Japan), their process is about 3 weeks for a spouse.

Here is my timeline so far.

Applied online on December 15, 2019.

Case was transferred from Texas to Vermont on February 24, 2020.

Date on my USCIS account changed again on May 1, 2020.

At that time it still said:

Quote

In Process
Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review.

Now the date changed again on May 15, 2020 but it says:

Quote

In Process
USCIS has accepted your application, petition, or request, and it is under review.

Also curious when I go to the Documents page I see this notice "Cancelled - Request for Evidence" on May 14, 2020:

Wonder what this means

I just checked the case status (where you don't have to login) and it reads:

Quote

Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS
As of May 15, 2020, we are actively reviewing your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number IOE#########. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
