Interview scheduled + courtesy letter

Hello there!

I applied for a green card in August of this year. I received a courtesy letter regarding the doctor form (the form was older than 60 days when they received my papers) on December 3rd. Then, today I saw the notification that they scheduled our green card interview and that they will mail me a notice with the date and the time. My question is, the only doctor in a 30 mile radius here has scheduled me for the immigration exam on January 6. Based on your experience, how long would it normally take for the interview notice to arrive in the mail? Do I get some extra time because of the courtesy letter? I want to have an idea whether I should look for other doctors further away to have that immigration exam done faster or just stick with this one.

Thank you!

Usually they schedule the interview anywhere 30 to 45 days as far as I saw on this site. Most likely around 45 days.   You won't get any extension because of the letter! Most likely if you don't provide it at the interview they are going to issue an RFE and you have to send it in (which can delay everything a few weeks to months depending how busy they are)

In my case, after the update of "Interview Was Scheduled" the notice arrived in the mail 7 days after that.

My timeline was like this: Interview was scheduled Jan 31st, Letter Received Feb 7th, Interview scheduled for March 11th.
