There is a huge risk is submitting false information in an attempt to obtain emergency AP....

No one is reading into what you posted but rather taking your words at face value. You clearly stated it was for work related to a business and a financial impact to their business if they do not go. After being told that doesnt look so good in their case- you then changed it to having nothing to do with the business at all and stated its about going to a death ceremony. Those are two completely different scenarios. If you want accurate advice you need to post accurate (and true) information.

There are only 4 reasons that USCIS will consider for expedite

  • Severe financial loss to a company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner’s or applicant’s failure to:
    1. File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or
    2. Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner;
  • Urgent humanitarian reasons;
  • Compelling U.S. government interests (such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests); or
  • Clear USCIS error.

Is going to the death ceremony considered as urgent humanitarian reason ?

Maybe, maybe not. It's a case by case decision - USCIS explicitly avoids blanket conditions for expedites.

Better question is why did the reason suddenly change?

Because he is looking for the reason with the best chance of giving the results they want, of course the part about attending a “death ceremony” could be another “asking for a friend” case

Haha...

The change of language puts in question the verisimilitude of OP's story.

Hi All, I have a pending I-130/485/765/131 for my parent , and they need to go to India in January for some work related to their business.
Can I submit expedite request with financial impact to their business if they do not go ?
Would it impact their 485 if we say they have a business in India ? The financial impact I am thinking is the loss to the business if they are
not present there.

get it together man. are you trying to just figure out what is the best way to get expedited AP ? death/business and lying to USCIS will lead a lot of problems in the future.

duh

It's simple. There is no harm in requesting an expedite. There's no guarantee that it will be approved. Just apply and see what happens. You will be asked to provide evidence of your reason to expedite, so make sure you use the real reason and not something you made up to improve your chances.

So there is no harm to the existing application by applying , per the responses .

Could raise some questions about intent at the interview.....

OP,  please do not fabricate a reason for the expedite.  This only makes it harder for people from your country to even get visas.  And lying to immigration is not smart.

From past threads and this one---OP always refers to the person as "parent" (singular), rather than "parentS"...afterwards using "they" which technically could be singular OR plural depending on context...or maybe some language barrier...so assuming only one is immigrating (the father).

Seems the OP's mother and grandmother have both passed away recently....or perhaps not....given that the change from business reasons to travel back quickly switched to funeral reasons within the same 24 hours.

Or perhaps it's both parents immigrating and then 1 will reincarnate in time for the embassy interview.

Hopefully OP can come back to clarify.

Not completely sure why the OP didn't just say the "real reason" behind in the first place.  Well, I have an inkling as to why but would border on breaking the TOS if I said it.

In some previous posts, "parents" was used so I'm assuming more than 1. It just may be only 1 that wants an expedite.

The application is only for my father , mother passed away last year. Business is something that family had , that is now closing so he has to go to close it.

The death ceremony is another reason that he wants to go. Everybody in this thread used the opportunity to make fun of another human being

who was asking for suggestions. There is nothing to lie to immigration here,  both the above are real reasons. Hope there is some kind of admin on this forum

who can moderate these users.

Maybe if you had given the full story in the original post, we wouldn't have had to speculate on the truth.

Moderate "these users" on what grounds?  I don't see any Visa Journey TOS violations in this thread at all.

You keep changing your story. He needs an expedite to prevent losing the business? Or does he need an expedite to close the business?

I suggest you start being honest and accept the options that are and aren't available to you, without bending the truth to get what you want.
