Hello,

I see posts on here where W2s are not required if a tax transcript is available. Another post: NVC just recently mandated the W2s along side a tax transcript which doesn’t make any sense. Can we confirm ?

also when uploading 2018 W2s and 1099s upload each single W2 separately or together?

Lastly what is a good proof of domicile ?

your tax transcript details all your W2 and other income. So a paper W2 is not necessary.

I imagine you could upload them either way, I dont see what difference it would make.

Lease, deed or mortgage to home, Drivers License showing your address, even tax records help prove domicile.

It is safer to upload W2. There have been some instances where a W2 was requested even after transcript submissions.

Also be aware of what docs is needed depending on your tax filing

Filed as Single, you will need one option from below:

  • Transcript
  • Return AND W2/1099/Schedule D...

Filed as MFJ:

  • Transcript AND W2
  • Return AND W2/1099/Schedule D...

1099 from banks are useless, dont bother with it unless you worked as an Independant contractor and got a 1099 instead of w2.

They are asking for it. Is my mortgage statement enough ?

I'm getting confused.

They need the domicile for the USC/LPR or the person immigrating?

Cause applicant is the person immigrating.

Yes the mortgage or even the voting ID card will suffice
