Hi, I am just looking for advice. I am hoping to move to the US in April (providing everything goes well) and am wondering whether to translate my qualifications? In the UK I have GCSEs, A levels and level 2 and 3 in counselling. I would consider the possibility of going back to school in the US and pursuing something counselling/ mental health related so would assume I would need these translated? I also assume I would need this for certain jobs? I was wondering what everyone else has done regarding this?

I have come across WES which offer grade translations, however they require certificates from the exam board in a sealed and signed envelope which I can imagine being difficult/ expensive as I already have these and would have to get these again from the exam board, for each qualification. So maybe there is an easier way of doing this, maybe whilst I'm in the US?

Any advise would be appreciated! I'm just trying to plan and sort everything!

Your GCSE’s and A levels, should be generally accepted as high school certificate..

anything issued by a university will be acknowledged and very useful

anything issued between the level of high school and uni eg at collage, may help demonstrate some competency, but it’s at the employers discretion to acknowledge because they are generally country legislation specific and you’ll need some upgrading.. however, number of years in that type of employment will also be considered at time of job interview.

uni in the US is very expensive.. it’s not like the uk.. and you’ll get no government assistance for it

no need to convert to USA, it’s easily checked online..

A levels just mean you can check the box saying graduated from High School, mist unlikely anybody would want evidence.

If you want to go to Uni then wait until the Uni tell you who they use, presumably you are looking for credits. No point using WES if they do not accept them.
