Hi, my fiance doesn't quite reach the poverty line and has minimal savings, so we have his mother as our co-sponsor. In the part regarding income and assets, for annual income do we fill in his current employment salary, plus child support that he receives? Or just employment salary?

Should we put anything in the 'value of personal property' part, such as his vehicles, more expensive belongings like tv's, computers etc, or leave it blank? As we are using his mother as our co-sponsor who is over the poverty line, we are hoping that will be enough. Would it be pointless to add anything about property when he can't prove how much things are worth anyway?

We are just trying to discuss how best to fill in the income questions to look as good as we can make it with the situation.

Income of $ with evidence would be great (pay stub, tax transcripts).  Property like stocks, gold, real estate of high value would be great.  Savings would be great as well.  Others secondary.   Co-Sponsor same method of proving income.

For income list GROSS income as listed in the tax return.

If you are not using assets to meet the requirement don't need to list them.

it is not required to use assets. and tvs/computers/etc do not count. real estate, investments, savings, etc are what they want.

his income is what he lists on taxes. so employment and child support do count. Your tax transcripts will have this info and you need to provide them anyways. As will your co sponsor.
