Hey guys,

I just got back from my medical, it was so speedy..under an hour and managed to cost me just under £300! Anyway, I was just wondering how long most people, UK people in particular, waited to be sent an interview date after they had returned packet 3 including the checklist? I returned mine by special delivery just over a week ago, please tell me the wait to know when my interview is won't be much longer!

Thanks,

Buffertortoise

Yup, come on over to the UK forum for help on this. It took us 23 days from posting back P3 and the checklist to getting P4, but there have been faster turnarounds. At the moment, it seems the time is tending to be 3-4 weeks.

Edit to ask: how come your medical cost around £300? Did you have jabs as well?

Come to the UK regional forum and check the thread on London Interviews - there are some helpful charts there with the dates and experiences of many VJ couples. As ECM mentioned above, there have been some QUICK turnarounds lately - but that lately ended shortly before we mailed back our P3, I think!

We mailed our packet back on May 29 (and postal delivery confirmation implies it arrived there), but they have yet to enter it into the system. Medical was completed last week, it has been, it seems, entered into the system.

You can also call to check on your status (or at least, check on what the computer says your status is) - avoid the high cost of calling the UK number by calling the State Department's visa line at 1-202-663-1225. Press "1" then "0" and wait on hold a bit. You need your "LND" number and the beneficiaries name. They can tell you what the Embassy has in the computer (ie: "they mailed packet 3 to you on date x, we have this in our system as the most recent action." It won't speed things up, but you may be able to get news before it arrives in your mailbox.

Good luck!
