Why?

Tunisian nationality is a problem?

Males with ties to MENA countries generally undergo more thorough vetting - background checks, etc.  The process can take longer.

I just have Tunisian nationality but i lived all my life in France. My Tunisian passport even stayed expirated  years because i did not go to Tunisia since long time.

After i understand, thank you. And i have already gone in USA to visit my fiance, i went in USA 3 times, customs never asked me anything there and i mentionned Tunisian passport on ESTA.

I'm not saying you will have any issues.  I'm just reporting what we see here on VJ.  There was recently a dual national with Norwegian and Iranian passports who wound up with a 16 month AP.

Everyone's circumstances are different.

I realize that.  I'm not talking about the banned list.  I was referring to MENA countries.

Administrative processing.  It occurs after an interview and is open-ended.

They check criminal record in both countries?

But i thought it can take longer for people who grew up lived in MENA countries but got naturalized after in European countries. But me, i was born in France ang lived all my life in France.

They're not so transparent when it comes to details about background checks.  All one can do is speculate.

Ryan and I have a 20 year age gap. Me being older. We just went through the process but we were UK to US.
No issues, I was petitioner and was never brought up at interview.
As others have said that it can be overcome with time, visits, and where you may be interviewing may be a factor.
Good Luck on your journey !

A big reason it takes a long time in a lot of MENA countries (like Pakistan) is cause many records aren't electronic and they're still on paper only, so theres a lot of faxxing and shipping of documents around and making sure they're the right ones. You shouldn't worry that much because Iran is definitely a lot more severe (atleast in my mind, I'd imagine the same for whoever puts you in AP) than Tunisia.

As for your age difference I think there won't be an issue, no one will mention it. You're not a 20 year old man who's marrying a 40 year old woman or vice versa. There's no issue cause you're from a country without strong religious ties like that and it's not particularly super uncommon to marry someone older, plus you're both at ages where child-bearing isn't the most common anyway. Don't worry!

He is 36 and I am not sure what the median age is in France but he can not be that for off it.

Oh I know I'm just saying that it's not unusual for a 36 year old to marry someone older than him by a significant margin as it is for a someone early 20s to marry someone in their 40s. It's a matter of perspective though I guess.

Thank you very much, when was the interview, maybe they dont ask about age but they can think about it without mention. Did you file for K-1? Why 2 interviews, did they denie first time?

Sorry for my questions, its just to know about experiences looks like my situation.

Thank you

We filed in 2016, I was   I was 51 then, he was 31.      Took nearly 3 years due to we filed AOS from a expired visitors Visa, and the Houston USCIS office is very backed up.

We had 2 interview, cause I believe the 2nd interview was 15 months after the first one.   The second was a Stokes interview, just 2 or 3 questions, and lasted maybe 5 minutes.

They asked how many dogs we have?, who walks them?, and if either of us smoked cigarettes.

Few weeks  later they issues us a NOID,  they wanted my registered divorce certificate from Egypt,  we got it within a few weeks, then 3 weeks later my husband was approved for his 10 year green card.

But age was never mentioned  at any point of the 2  interviews.  Maybe  cause I don't look like I'm  in my 50s and my husband looks much older in person & he is very mature .
