Speaking from experience here:

- True/False: Some cases are approved in a week or less after submitting documents

TRUE: I submitted all the documents on 11/8/2019 and received approvals and DQ on 11/14/2019. This was not expedited on my end.

Yes! Sometimes random flukes happen. When we also had a very short time between when we submitted our K1 documents and when we received the NOA2.  We filed October 17th, 2016, received the Noa1 on October 27th (normal) and received the Noa2 by November 9th (weird). It was so odd but it turns out that I met someone else on visajourney who submitted the same week as us and the same thing happened! But everyone who submitted the week before and after had the usual wait of several months. None of us expedited either. Someone must have gone through the wrong pile of paperwork or something, I assume, so we all got approved so quickly.

And I'm sure each office has a certain amount they have to go through each day, just like any other job. I have a certain amount of paperwork I need to complete in my workday too. So that would be expected.

Ultimately, the answers to these don't matter since there isn't anything we can do or control from our end. We just need to wait.

This is true, what they do is not as signification to them as it is for us. I wounder what they would say if they knew people felt this way about the situation.

Compassion fatigue would set in if they poured their hearts into it like you do when you fill out the paperwork.

I just wish the US govt would hire more workers. When I started this process the estimated time for I130 approval, at Nebraska anyway, was 6 -8 months. It is now 12 - 15.5 months. The USCIS is self funded. This means that they don't need govt to balance the budget every year, wait for funding etc.

Frustrating. Esp when one service center is a lot faster than another.

Hi,

I wanted to start a thread about things we may or may not have heard about the NVC. I think it would help clear up some questions for a few people. Let's start off with some true or false statements...

True/False: Some cases are approved in a week or less after submitting documents

We got DQ 2 days after submitting the docs. But there was a 3-month delay at USCIS before NVC received the petition so we still came out "behind"... We never filed a formal expedite request, but one of the many reps I spoke to said "he'd look into it".

I agree, more worker would help... but I have hope that there are some individuals that love their job and are willing to go the extra mile. If not all the time but some time.

Just wait, take off the tin hat and enjoy your Christmas.

You already got an expedite on your i130, I’ve been waiting longer than you’ve been married, and some people even longer than me.

Does anyone have a rumor as to how long it takes for file to be shipped from Nebraska to NVC

No rumor it can take 2 weeks to 3 months.

Hopefully, the person/people who handles my case has good work ethic 🤞

I never had a bad call when I called NVC every day sometimes 2 and 3 times. One time I talked 3 hours with Supervisor Gus. Because of him I learned so much.
They are people to and I find it amazing when I thank them and say you are the greatest you get so much better service and they act surprised because I guess most hear nothing but whining and complaining.
I always tell the ladies in my groups you know your petition ain't the only one there. It's like multiple yours by the thousands and all everyone wants is there's done RIGHT NOW.

I know. It truly has/is one of the most stressful and difficult times of my life, and the same applies to everyone else. We are all in the same position.

Just know that this is the last time you will spend Christmas this way. The light is getting brighter at the end of the tunnel.
