Boiler is a "he", but I agree, he does seem to come up all Greta, all the time. Not sure why though.

Boiler is a human, from all that I have been able to ascertain.

But I was referring to the OP, as you well know.  The one who despises toxic masculinity so much that she's about to get married.  Again.

What is a haint? I just googled it and everything seems to be about paint colors.

Haints: Ghosts and evil spirits from the old south

https://keithdotson.com/blogs/news/haints-ghosts-and-evil-spirits-from-the-old-south

Haint is an old southern word for a specific type of ghost or evil spirit from the Carolina coast, but found in tales from various regions of the south. Belief in haints probably originated with the Gulla Geechee people, descendants of African slaves in the Carolina low country and barrier islands. In South Carolina, haints are malicious ghosts, often seeking to steal or harm naughty children (maybe used as a story to make unruly children behave?).

Well, not every man is possessed of toxic masculinity. I would even guess that "toxic" shouldn't be applied to the masculinity of most men, most of the time. Most men are, like I think generally most people are, inherently good and want to do good in the world. Even my somewhat saintly fiance (I mean, he is marrying me, so he must be patient!) occasionally says things that I think are a little sexist, and I will bring it up with him. Now, most of the time what he's saying is in a teasing way (the whole, woman, who said you could wear shoes? thing for example), or when it comes to a smack on the behind it's meant not to belittle me, but to play at being a Manly Man. I get it. But when I think he's going to far with the teasing, I do say something and I think he listens.

All of this really is just me saying that I think that a person can dislike toxic masculinity and still love men. :)

You seriously need to watch I Dream of Jeannie. At least season 1, the first 4-5 episodes.  Free on Amazon Prime, if you still have Voldemort's password.  😇😇

I have ALWAYS had my own Prime account! Actually, he used mine for the first year or so when he first came here.I haven't accessed his since we split, because I really only ever used it to help him with delivery issues for physical items. Now it's just his assistant who deals with that. I do feel bad for his assistant, who now has to do his own job PLUS all the wifely home management stuff at the moment, which is why Voldy is looking for Wife #2. He thrives when he has dedicated support staff.

And I DO know what I Dream of Jeannie is. As much as Alex would like me calling him master occasionally, I don't think he and I are cut out for a 24/7 D/s relationship, but thank you.

The Master part is over the top.  But she clearly reminds him that cooking and cleaning are a woman's  duties.

In her relationship, okay. I enjoy cooking and am not too bad at it, but I would also like some assistance. And I would like Al to eat well when I am away, like I am right now (I've extended my stay down here by another day). And he is almost 35 years old, he should know by now how to put his socks and boxers IN the hamper. I'm not asking him to do heavy cleaning, or even to change the sheets or vacuum (cleaning service will handle). But there are basic tidying things he can do for himself. His ex-wife is an amazing woman but she really babied him; he'd been living on his own for several years and managing to get by but it was complete backsliding when she came on the scene. She would agree that cooking and cleaning are women's duties but I disagree. :)

And why did Alex move on?

All women? Sorry, I think I am having a moment of not comprehending Nature Boy Grammar®. (I am sober, I swear.)

I don't want to get into it (not my story to tell) but she was the one who left him. Nothing horrific, just money stuff.

My own terrible grammar.

Very excited -- I just read this article on Forbes and it brings together two of my interests -- horror movies AND toxic masculinity (thank you Google alerts!). I am 100% absolutely going to see this when it comes out.

So somebody white identifying as a woman in a film called Black Christmas?

SJW's would have a heart attack.

It's a play on "White Christmas," of course. The original is AWESOME.

I can think of many films from that era that is our much more progressive times are unacceptable.
