@Firat(Tur) the sole reason for my expeditious filling was the fact that VAWA law was going to lapse. I don't know about your case but you know VAWA law was lapsed in Feb,2019 due to congress/senate inaction.

VAWA is a humanitarian petition from USCIS , The VAWA provisions, which apply equally to women and men, are permanent and do not require congressional reauthorization.

The congressional authorization and VAWA bill is to authorized and have federal funding to help maintain benefits, shelters, and programs available for victim of domestic violence, in other words the federal funding where the ones the expires or lapsed.... Not the USCIS I-360 form Petition or benefits for (Vawa) Battered spouse.

Very correct. Thanks for clarifying this.

The lawyer had to request to reopen it because my work permit is automatically cancelled once it's denied, and it expires June 2020 and I wont be able to work until the new c9 card under VAWA is delivered, which that could take sometime now, and honestly it wont be easy for me if am out of work for some months, how would I pay my rent, so right now I don't really know what to do, should I renew my old work permit and hope they wont cancel the old I-485 once they know I have a new one, and if they cancel it, I would be out of job for only God knows, until they issue the new c9 card, or should I just not renew the old one and continue to use it to work until they deliver the new c9 card, that is if  they don't later on figure out that I have 2 I-485 now and cancel one, probably the new I-485 and I have to renew the old one so late and probably be out of job for sometime, I just don't know what to do now, am confused, what do you think I should do now, what's the best option for me for now please.

I think your New EAD base on the new I-485 will arrived before June 2020, since you sent it in September 2019 EAD is taking around 5-8 months, But if you want to feel secure and received your receipt with your 180 days extension from the old I-485 you can sent it, so you have no time Gap (which i think you wont have), but certainly they will cancel one and process the other one.

Mine is pending for the 183 days now. I am expecting it to update within a month now. My 6 month extension will expire on march 20th.

Hello everyone,

I recently read about RFE not required.

I filed Dec 2018.

I was required initial evidence which was police clearance and was sent in promptly.

I did not submit any additional document at that time because I was still going for Therapy  and also medication management for PTSD.

I have most required evidence now but waiting for RFE.

I'm confuse now, should I continue to wait until they ask, or send every supporting document without waiting for RFE, please I need advise from everyone and @sandranj, Also, my EAD expires in March 2020 and I just got finger printed for the renewal.

Please Help!!!

My Dear Sent what you have promptly with your I-360 receipt or blue paper to Vermont Service center... @sandranj has clarified many times the USCIS is not obligated any more to issue RFE it is on their own discretion to do so meaning they can just denied an incomplete application, sending more proof can't never hurt a case will make stronger to get an approval.

Did you use C09 category on the I-765 form ?  you can involve congressman if your extension expires.

one quick question.

i sent form G-1145 with my Vawa application. Does USCIS send the notification for VAWA as well?

Yes. If you have your receipt number you can also choose on your USCIS account to received email and text notification as well.

To all who've been trying to send Sandra a PM but can't get through:  I've reported the apparent glitch to Captain Ewok, our site administrator.  He's very busy but will surely look into it as soon as he can.  Thanks for your patience.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi all,

It seems this will be a long way until i finish my wava process and I have some questions to you people because you are more experience in time on it:

- I requested to move the priority date of my I130 to I360, this means they are going to process my I360 faster or the PD is only for the interview for the Green card?.

- There were a work permit and travel document renewal in course since august 2019 because I have a I485 in progress and my workpermit expire next january 15th , if they approve it, can I use it or should I wait to get the work permit I sent with the vawa?.

- Because this process takes a lot of time, can I use the travel document i filled before the vawa to go abroad while the case is still in progress or should I stay in the country until is approve?.

Thanks for all your help,

Dany.
